Tried every permutation of tools it could find.

Except for the Cobra 4, smaller craft are going to have to concentrate on one of the four modes, normal, surface abrasion (works well with normal), subsurface deposits, and deep core mining.

You are going to need lots of internals for drones, and lots of hardpoints for mining tools. Drones get used *fast* under the new system.

Oh, and a utility mount for the Golden Roid Scammer...err, Scanner. Note that you can outrun your collector drones while chasing distant Golden Droids.

After the Cobra 4, it's straight to the Python- And Beyond!

Please note that keeping the scanner and the prospector in the same firegroup is useful. You will have a proliferation of firegroups, and few true combat weapons.

The alt account is just using the scrubber, and the Golden Roid Scanner, now. And vanilla mining still works.

The form of mining that *feels* best to me, personally, is the old, vanilla mining method. It's much more relaxing.

Note: there are now increased NPC presences in GG rings. You will need your defensive utilities, internal slots for HRP's, and your combat weapons *not* used for mining.

I think Frontier is trying every method possible to encourage multiplayer. Even if it drives the last of us toothless old solo dregs out of the game.

Mining has been handled by Frontier in a praiseworthy fashion. They have given us additional tools that complement each other, without removing the base gameplay.

Only Frontier knows how mode time is split, and they would need permission from Euros Holmes to disclose it...

You mean the 2.8% of players that board flip and only play solo?

I'm a solo player myself and if Multiplayer is pushed too far, i will have to bid my farewell to Elite.

All you need is the seismic charges and abrasive laser then a prospector limpet controller and collector limpet controller but that ones optional.

A refinery.

Detailed surface scanner to find hot spots but that might not be nessecary according to some things I've read and a wave scanner.

Find herself a pristine ring and have at it, easy money and very satisfying.
