What Simon Telecki and Stalker said.
It's like a second home and I just enjoy "being there" and doing whatever can be done there, and like Simon I'm mostly a bounty hunter but I enjoy the odd bit of relaxing mining and exploration. At some point I want to get one of the big ships because I'm curious about them, I'll probably get a Fer De Lance if it looks like the concept art from #57 because it's sexy, but it is not like this is my *endgoal*
Same here. I have a Viper because when I was 8 years old that was the coolest ship in the game and I couldn't fly it. I really enjoy flying it. That's it, really. When I'm at the controls, all is well in the world. It doesn't really matter what I'm doing, so it doesn't really matter if they add more things for me to do. It would be just swell if they did, but I don't really need it.
I'll also get a Fer de Lance when they come because when I was 8 years old, that was the coolest ship that wasn't in the game, because I had the game on an audio tape.
It's a little difficult to disseminate whether the place the game takes me back to is space, or being 8 years old. I think it's mostly the former. This game would have blown my 8 year old mind. I just love being in it. There is no end-goal whatsoever, and I think this marks a major divide between happy players and bored players. If you're looking for an end goal you'll find one (or the lack of one) pretty quickly. If you're not, you'll be happy pretty much forever. When people say "That's Elite!", I think that's what they mean.
