I dropped the thrusters down to the D model; I had the clean drives blueprint and ran it up to G5 with no effect and it really did seem to help. I also dropped the power plant down to the D model as well and did a grade 3 overcharge at the same time.FWIW, my Cutter has 8D thrusters (DD5 & Drag) rather than 8As and the steering isn't terrible.
It's only something like 20m/s slower than 8As (35m/s with boost) but the ship's nearly 200t lighter as a result of being able to run a 7A PP and 6A PD (100t from the thrusters, 40t from the PP and 40t from the PD).
Maybe the slight reduction in thrust, along with the reduction in mass, helps keep things under control a bit?
I have flown it with G5 8A thrusters so I know how they go and, honestly, I didn't really miss them when I swapped to the 8Ds.
AT the landing pad?you slid all over the place
I have landed the Cutter on plantary ports, stations, power play mega ships and colonisation mega ships with no issues.AT the landing pad?
Look I get it, you're salty. I'm poking fun a bit with that video, but your OP literally claims you CANNOT land a Cutter without a docking computer. So I don't know what to tell you, you are NOT flying an airplane through an atmosphere and large ships shouldn't handle as such in outer space.
I have landed the Cutter on plantary ports, stations, power play mega ships and colonisation mega ships with no issues.
I had the landing indicator centered on the pad, all blue and it wouldn't lock.
On planetary pads it sometimes is a little finicky, almost like the circle is smaller, but sliding the ship slowly across the pad until it locks down works every time.
I couldn't get this to lock down. Period. I don't know why, but after playing for nearly 3 hours I was I no mood to find out. Last night I didn't even try to, just let the docking computer do it's thing.
I've played this game for 10 years and rarely ever used the docking computer because I prefer to fly my own ships... Heck I rarely use the super cruise assist.
Who knows, usually relogging fixes it but for some reason it didn't.Sounds like some server or client lag to me.
