Crikey....you go to bed and wake up and your in area 51 with the pyramids as alien spaceships.

Please see OP for updates yesterday clearly stating it's Unknown Artefacts we are after. Whoever grabbed an image of an insectoid from Google and whipped that picture up wants a round of applause though first class winding.

I know and someone appears to have trolled us all.. Most amusing.

I really love this mystery. Awesome Job FD!

Would be cool if the artifact would point to a certain system where we would find an ancient probe or something. Scanning it would trigger some strong signal - telling its makers that it had discovered someone.
Or simply Sauron's voice: I see you ...

Unknown Artefacts supposedly from unidentified signal sources.

That is my theory
USS in systems next to Federal or Imperial system hoping for one
As well as SSS for the AI Remnants.
With Any luck I might run into one of those conveys of Naval vessels to cargo scan them.
Funny thing is I always run into them when no looking for them

Roger, I'm on it. I shall do my best to find them again. I've found them before but I always just left them or sold them. I will do a proper examination, record them and extract them for further "investigation".

In my last post, a video about someone nearby a soontill relics(and some more)

Edit : nope :) doesnt look so genuine after all.

It's confirmed by Michael Brookes that the Soontil canisters and the Unknown Artefacts are two different things, and Michael's hint that we "should listen to it" referred to the Unknown Artifacts.
Also, in this post
That isn't a Thargoid and not our art.

Michael
Michael says that the Thargoid-like picture that you get when decrypting the Soontil canister sounds is not their art - so the Soontil sound is probably a hoax.

So next time someone records a canister can we power down the ship as much as is safe and then record. Also turn music off plz.

Suppose we need recording of each type of artefact too. Then we need to work out a suitable analysis of the recordings.

It must be this i guess -not joking, so real spoiler

I have just reproduced the image myself, using the software shown in the video and using the original soontill canister video - so it's not a hoax - unless the original soontill canister video is itself a hoax

Thargoid.jpg

So the youtube video is a hoax?

:D

Personally, I think the video is a hoax. I'll happily be proved wrong, but until there is corroborating evidence, I don't buy it.

Yes, it would seem the video (specifically the sound on the video) was most likely a hoax. Here's another recording from someone who would be considered a more reliable source. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaKLvjL3G98&feature=youtu.be

I'm still hoping Tinman can provide some more information on the screenshot or where he found the unknown artefact.

It doesn't make sense to me that they can come from any unidentified signal source, anywhere. Otherwise I would imagine more people would be talking about them. Not because they bothered to listen to them, but because the screenshot says they sell for 200k+ credits, each.

I wouldn't be surprised if the USS has to be found within certain requirements, for example certain systems, sectors, or a certain distance from inhabited space.

Not trying to send anyone on a pointless chase, just sharing ideas.
