Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

The Soontil Relics in that last video don't make a sound (as evidenced by the first few seconds of the video). The sounds in the rest of it are galactic noise from the entire Milky Way which is in-vision.

I have only just learned about this piece of news about hidden things in the universe. I really (REALLY!) hope that FD create MANY more things like this to be discovered. It brings the universe to life, the fact that you could stumble across something new and unique ... whether you notice it or not!

I'm still hoping Tinman can provide some more information on the screenshot or where he found the unknown artefact.

It doesn't make sense to me that they can come from any unidentified signal source, anywhere. Otherwise I would imagine more people would be talking about them. Not because they bothered to listen to them, but because the screenshot says they sell for 200k+ credits, each.

I wouldn't be surprised if the USS has to be found within certain requirements, for example certain systems, sectors, or a certain distance from inhabited space.

Not trying to send anyone on a pointless chase, just sharing ideas.

Clue here.

If we read the system info it says that this place trades in alien artefacts. It doesn't neccasarily mean they are in this system, it means the system buys the items here. Wheather they will trade with us we don't know.

I have found those 'unknown artefacts' in WSS around system Timocani. I was there for about 3 or 4 weeks and found at least 3 of them. I didn't know any of this stuff then so just sold them. What I can't be sure of is if I got them only from WSS or I looted them from cargo ships.

I'm also going to try some mining there and see what else is in the rocks.

I found them before but mine didn't sell for anywhere near 200k, I think they count as a rare so you have to travel far away from where you find them to sell them for that much. I wish I knew that when i was in my adder back then XD.

I'm trying to find them but they're pretty rare. Only found then 2 or 3 times I think in all the 150+ hours I've played.

There we go. I hadn't seen that post. It conflicts with what Tinman said, but of course it could be possible they come from USS or WSS.

It was only just posted on a different thread. What did Tinman say about it? I'm only just trying to get up to speed on this. I'm very tempted to leave the people of Volungu to their fate and get directly involved. :D

He posted on the first page of this thread with a screenshot of the actual item in game, saying only it was rarely found in USS.

I saw that but it doesn't conflict as far as I can see. I and I Redeye found some in WSS and also looted from cargo ships, the cargo ships could well have been in USS, or SSS. He also gives us a possible location to look.

I just meant that one said WSS and the other USS. I haven't done missions / tried to raise rep so my experience with signal sources as a whole is very limited.

If it isn't in a specific system we look in, I wonder if it is a particular type.
As in would High tech systems be where artifact would be shipped?

Fair enough. Generally speaking WSS usually contain only salvage, SSS usually contain a strong NPC/wing (often with salvage as "bait") and a USS is more or less anything else.

Just had a SSS with a military convoy, had two Type 9 Heavies
One with Painite and one with Hafniuim 178
Possible if I run into another they might be carrying something different.
Could be a possible way to get the unknown artefacts
Will still check WSS and USSes as well

Hi,

I will explain as much as I can remember.

I was in Timocani, Geawenki, those systems over there. I was doing alot of missions for the anarchy factions down there. I was there for weeks and have only just left there about a week ago. I have only found those unknown canisters there but I was farming missions so went through alot of USS. I wonder now if I actualy only got them from anarchy systems and maybe an anarchy system that has a black market. They are illegal after all.
Also I can't remember how I got them. I used to scan all ships and only loot the big stuff so I certainly would loot for those canisters cos I sold them at Timocani Black Market. I can't be 100% if cargo ships had them or they were in WSS or both.
I might try camp an anarchy black market and farm those USS. I know how to get through them very quickly.

The Unknown Artefacts and other items were introduced in 1.2:
Turns out there is a bunch of new commodities in 1.2 and they all are pretty valuable, does anyone have any idea how to get them?

and in the same thread someone says they'd found all of those in USS:

I found all these at USS's before, hopefully its a big buff to random finds (well very similar things and no painite)

If you get in close to an Unknown Artifact with the debug camera, it's got "OR FHER GB QEVAX LBHE BINYGVAR" written on the side

Searching Google it looks like it is encoded by a crypto ring. will try to decipher. but there are a couple of hits in websites too!

edit
Errr - FDev and Mr Brooks (or Cube) in particular are having fun with us...

plaintext: Be sure to drink your Ovaltine!
ciphertext: Or fher gb qevax lbhe Binygvar!

It is a ROT 13key to a cypher.- FYI
