Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

Hi,

thanks for the info. What would be also interesting would be a video a bit more far away. This black shadow silhouette coming out is not completly visible at this range. Do you know of such a video? :D

But is that *simple* and *obvious* enough? They said it's solvable in game. The black silhouette is visible only when the video it's slowed down. :(

So in ANOTHER thread an intrepid explorer is recalling his frightening experience with interdiction 17kly away from home... no other ships at the other and but 23% hull and weapons off line... this was the response.

Why is he quoting war of the worlds?

Because it awesome

Which systems have UA been found in?

I am sure that Federation ship that went missing a couple of months ago is in the Thargoid universe right now. An alternative theory (from another thread I was reading) is that Thargoids have already invaded, but are just playing in another instance.

Very early on in this discussion there's something about a UA multiplying to make several UAs when it "blew up". Not sure if that is correct, or if it was a glitch, but as PC says it may be that we need to study the behaviour of UAs when they complete their decay cycle.

I'm fairly sure that was just a cargo replication bug, the same thing happened with the cannisters of Gold that I paid Red Wizzard my share of the prize fund with.....in effect made it a little cheaper! I presume its long since fixed.

Following the recent comments that people are over thinking the Unknown Artifact with all the sound/mathematical analysis, has anyone tried heading to Polaris with an Unknown Artifact in their cargo hold? Perhaps it simply acts as a Permit allowing you to hyperspace to the system (or perhaps some of the other permit locked systems like in the Regor sector).

I'm sure it's probably already been brought up but I didn't feel so inclined to read through 601 pages to find out. ;)

I dont think the "Shadow" is anything to worry about folks, the outline is similar enough to the outline of the artefact itself that I'd suggest its probably just a weird rendering thing and nothing to worry about.

Dr Arcannon has done a sterling job keeping the first post updated with a list of things that have been tried etc. Not saying the question you've asked is not relevant...

There is a huge amount of content here (some biscuit-related, too!), but the most important info is right back at the beginning ;)

Yes, I'd agree it is probably a rendering issue. I've had "double vision" and "triple vision" ghosting of planets before and I think I experienced it to a minor degree when recording the video, so it is probably just that.

Hah! Funny you should say this, I was just wondering the same thing - about how the Thargoid invasion would work.

Imagine some intrepid explorer - Erimus? Or future president Murp? - posting here: "Attention all Cmdrs! I've been attacked. Thargoids! They're following me from system to system.. I need help, meet me in the shadow of NGC 7822. Oh, and if you're not sure, I'll be the Asp with a billion Thargoids on my tail".

Cue a massive rush of combat-equipped explorers rushing out to face the enemy. A massive flotilla of combatty Asps, Anacondas and Diamondback Scouts. And then, suddenly.... nothing happens.

"Uhhh, guys? There are 32 of us in this instance. Someone has to leave to let the Thargoids in!"
"I'm not going, I was here first..."
"I fly a Conda, I leave for no man..."
"Me neither, and drop 10 Gold for suggesting that I should!"
"Why did the groigan dance?"

And so, the great, second Human v Thargoid War was averted, with Man and Thargoid in the same system but stranded in separate instances, trading strongly worded insults about each others' mother(s).

Well if that other thread is true and the CMDR was interdicted 17,000LY out, that is a proper hike, not a Sunday drive.

Probably worth our explorer friends checking it out before the rest of us tool up and head out there. Would take me a week to get there, thats if Central Command signed off on the mission.

So is EORL AUG XP-P E5-2080 a new lead?

Has nobody been interdicted that far until now? If they haven't, could it be a bug?

Lord, i hope not, at least not in the erroneous line of code sense.

We NEED Thargoids. We need BIG GAME hunting! Think the devs may pull the lever sooner rather than later on the Thargoids. It will be a way to engage those more "disgruntled" souls in the community. If this was to be a "test" of a Thargoid interdiction device, it would be pretty interesting.

Bring it. Please don't let it be a bad line of code....

Don't get me wrong, I too do hope it's not a bad line of code and it's in fact a *bug*. We need volunteers to test this! :)

EORL AUG XP-P E5-2080 is the system the guy in the other thread supposedly almost got interdicted in while charging his FSD. Anyone nearby?

By all means someone do a fly by if close but surely that's got to be a bug? I for one have been interdicted by nobody more than once ( in occupied space though).

Our strongest runner right now for me is activating scanner with a UA near by. Correct me if I'm wrong but this remains untried?

Sadly, tried and failed. Test results from the other thread (I note it seems no one has tried taking one to Soontill, LFT 509 or Witch's Reach apparently?):

What systems other than Timocani and 109 Virginis have they been found in? Anyone know?
