Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

If that's the solution that would be so epic! :D

Yup - it could easily spawn a mission on the BB, or a Galnet article with an additional clue or the like, once a certain number were "on the market" so to speak. There is a certain vendor in alien artefacts near Soontill IIRC as well for that matter.

Lets just stop the meta and remember: We don't know if the Thargoids are entirely hostile, if at all. That and we don't even know if the UA is Thargoid in origin.

So says a puppet of the Alliance, known Thargoid-lovers. ;-)

If something interdicts me and pulls me into Witchspace without so much as a by-your-leave while I'm 17K LY out in the Black, I'm shootin' first and examin' remains later. Or at least doing a very threatening submit, boost, jump.

And has anyone actually sold one of them?

Yes I think a couple were sold early on when first discovered purposefully to test it and some without knowledge of their significance.

I 'am currently looking for a new one around the Vega system. Has anyone else seen one recently in 1.3 onwards ?

Actually I don't think we've actually SOLD any yet, just checked prices. I wanted to get one to sell at Leonard Nimoy and POSSIBLY Alioth.

Cool - we can cross that one off the list then. I am not sure anyone has found one in 1.3 yet, the audio change was noticed on one that someone had stored in 1.2 and brought out again after 1.3 I believe.

Or not cross it off, perhaps, as the case may be. Can anyone confirm having sold one?

You could be right as I 'am going off my shonky old memory about deliberate test sales but I 'am convinced someone came on and said they sold a couple not realising what there were when we first looked for them. My recollection is someone said they would try selling one in Nimoy station ? Lol ! Its probably easier to find one again and sell it too Nimoy to make sure then find it in the 600+ pages

Yeah, that is why it would be very cool if Arcanonn and/or Derthek can update the test results also, and if we could add a list of known systems they have been found in (there must be more than two). With the latter we could start playing with range before deterioration to try and figure out a "bubble" that the source or destination of the UA convoys might be in.

Edit: For example, the test results for systems indicate that the UAs were only ever kept in cargo holds or dropped in normal space, not/not sold at those systems: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=142106

Is it possible they sold Soontill Relics?

I think Comrade Napoleon had one in his sights a couple of weeks ago but that's about it.

Where is that?

Well the current people who have a UA are me, Redwizzard and Wishblend though I'm carrying Wishblend's.

Morten-Marte - you may want to wing up with Erimus, I think he is already heading there... ;-)

Facece would be another good bet - old secret INRA base (now major Imperial naval base).

If you have an extra one, I'd trying selling it first before running all over the place though. :)

Posting this here, maybe it's related or another mystery??, sadly I needed ELITE explorer rank.

Cheers

That and there is the fact that it's referencing a "celestial" body... The whole point of this thread or rather the UA is to determine its NON Celestial origin. That article could be more in line with Dark Wheel / Raxxla Lore more so than the UA I would think.

Apologies if this is also pretty old news, but a few pages back someone asked whether anyone had found a 'SAP 8 Core Container' since they wondered if these might possibly have something to do with this whole 'Unknown Artifact' mystery. Today I happened to come across a mission on the bulletin board named 'The Silent Song of the Spheres' which appears to give you these items for a delivery mission.

I don't have the Elite trade rank required to accept these missions, so I couldn't take a look at the actual objects themselves. I have absolutely no idea whether this has anything to do with the 'Unknown Artifact' mystery or not, but if anyone wants to check it out I spotted these missions at the Fermi Ring and Fujimori Station in Huangais, as well as at the Dixon Ring in B2 Carinae.

The only reason I think they might have something to do with the 'Unknown Artifact' mystery is that the mission name 'The Silent Song of the Spheres' makes me think of the strange song that come from these 'Unknown Artifacts'. I could be completely wrong though! Best of luck to anyone attempting to solve this whole mystery.

Pretty old news. This is what made me go on my two week long trip to the torture chamber called the galactic core so I could scan neutron stars trying to reach Elite.

Sorry, saw you went exploring to get Elite ranking but totally missed the reason :p
