Also just wanted to say a big thank you to Ben for his guide on mining & the Sothis CG.

I have thoughly enjoyed learning how to mine minerals in the ASP, but now I have a shiny new Python to mine minerals with.

However since hauling is a bit faster & this a CG, going to hauling gold for a bit for the Sothis CG. Then when that is done...or I get bored lol, going to mine with this Python for awhile.

Oh and I have ranked up my exploration rank. This is just by going to Sothis, then back to get my CG rewards in Maausk, Dakshmandi, & Cemiesss....then back to Diaguandri for the shiny new Python...& now to find the best sorces of gold to haul to Sothis. So this has really helped out the exploration rank.

oh and the website that I copied those values for gold from...I manually updated those vaules as they were out of date on the (http://inara.cz) website, since I was docked ther anyways. (Though it looks like I forgot to update the supply...people muct be using the crap out of that gold stock because the vaules kept changing lol)

Took me 52 jumps ~500ly in my T9. No shields and kept getting interdicted by NPC has to stop at Tarukau (?) to repair.

As soon as I jumped in to Sothis a lone FDL came after me so I high waked out again, made it in in the end though.

On my way back to get some more gold!

Yeah took me a while as well to get there - my first CG as well ! :)

Also, once docked *blush* I had no idea what to do. Sure, accept the community goal - appears in the left hand panel - appears also in the main screen but there is no "give cargo" option. :S

(Figured it out in the end - just sell the stupid thing in the commodities window and it adds to your CG total)

I've got to say that making the trip to Sothis in a Clipper is excrutiatingly painful... 16 tons fuel and 15ly laden range... The margin for error if hitting unscoopable stars is minimal... And it takes ages to get there.

I'd rather do 3 trips in my Asp than another one in my Clipper... If it weren't worth so much money I would abandon it at Sothis and catch a cab just to not having to make the trip back.

Getting my gold now for the last days in Naren, traffic looks quite low and the prize has been stable at 8800something per ton all the Time. Not sure how much traffic it can take without driopping (supply has always been somwhere above 100'000) but its worth a try, especially for my fellow Anaconda Pilots - mine loves the place!

OK just to clear up any confusion here:

There was a news broadcast tonight on Hutton Orbital radio huttonorbital.com - this was a discussion and news about various matters including the Sothis CG. It will also be archived on the website and on Itunes.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) there will be a Lave Radio broadcast on laveradio.com - during the Lave Radio broadcast Psykokow will be travelling from Wolf 424 to Sothis - if you want to join him in a convoy be there at 8.30pm UK time tomorrow.

Quite a few people were saying they will step up and do at least 1 run for the CG (or 1 more run if they've done one already).

Count me as one of the Hutton veterans doing just that. :cool:

Doe 2 runs & will do some more once I get my mining run done. :)

I've ran around 100 tons of gold to Sothis but decided to head back to the systems around my starting point.
Lacking the awesome modules to really make a dent in the event.

Having just passed 10000t delivered,all I can say is that I hope the rest of you lot get this one over the line else my..small contribution will all be for nothing. :(

Over 1000 contributors so far,but it would take just 30 like me to hit the current total :)
