Woo hoo made it to Sothis unscathed haha .... now to find more gold

The important thing is to participate.
I managed to collect 8 tons of gold in HIP 11879. The A ring - with gold - are very close to the purple planet so it was difficult to reach.
Just to tell you I enjoyed a lot my first real long trip in the galaxy. Finally reach Sothis with my Diamondback Explorer yesterday.
First time participate to a CG and I loved it. It was dangerous sometime but a very gratifying adventure.
Each time, whenever I start a trip to ED, it happens to me all sorts of unexpected things. But that's the beauty of this game.
Thank you to those who were kind enough to give advice and generously disclose the right places!

I quite enjoyed the trip to Sothis - until I got there. No Community Goal. I'm in BETA 1.4!!
Could be worse (It IS!!) I brought a T7 full of Lucan Onionhead - I thought all those miners could use a lift.
The only black market is at an outpost.
Newholm Station does not spin. Is this normal? Maybe I shouldn't be sampling the wares?

That's also the reason it isn't spinning yet.
Yeah, that was my answer. I wasn't clear enough.
Them sparks, aka "welders in work" are present at multiple places around the structure. Same with the station at Ceos.

That said we have 4 days after the devs added 3 extr days to co incide with 1.4 launch, so everyone has the weekend to get us over tier 4.

I was in top 5% with 2048 but last night I dropped to top 15 so I guess you are safe for a little while yet
I find Oretes nearer to buy gold, it's only 344ly. (if i remember correctly)

did my first run yesterday in my Cobra with the immense load of 16t gold ;-)
The ride was fun so far.
Met nice commanders on the way. Very relaxing.
Now I have a total n00b question... I've accepted the CG, but where do I have to deliver the gold? Sell it via bulletin board or should I sell it to the local market?
I'am sure it is answered in this thread, but I didn't find it quickly.

Sell it to the local market ... simples !
Sell it on the normal market. You'll see it add the amount to your CG contribution.
