Special Alliance "rank" and perks needed!

Alliance gets less love than Feds and Imps. This makes me very, very sad. "Their" ships are available to anyone, and there are no ranks to gri..aspire for. As a social justice warrior, 1) I'm naturally inclined to support Alliance (them being the least of three evils) and 2) feel this is simply unfair. We SJWs tolerate a lot, but not unfairness, or more broadly, injustice! Alliance deserves more love! Justice needs to be served!

Therefore, we need something to fix this injustice. I suggest a special rank or title, achievable by performing a "special ops" mission (similar to the rank up missions for Feds and Imps), once you're allied with the Alliance and have a high enough Combat rank (not necessarily Elite, but reasonably high). This rank could be something to the effect of "Envoy" or "Operative", and grant access to special perks: either a special module or a special ship. Having Alliance rep reduce to less than allied would remove access to the said perk (or at least getting more of the modules/ships). These envoys or operatives would also occasionally be offered spec ops missions, with high risks and rewards. I think this sort of cloak and dagger missions would fit well in the Alliance concept and offer something less lame than the Alliance PP gri..effort, which also is one of the lamest (yes, Alliance is consistently given the lame treatment!) PP activities.

As for the perk module/ship, I have a few ideas and would love to hear more. In the cloak and dagger spirit, maybe something sneaky, like an advanced jammer that disrupts ship sensors and interrupts scans? Or a dazzle pulse which causes all ships within x distance to lose lock on the ship? Or, finally a way to do infiltration missions sneakily, a special stealth SRV that can avoid the automatic detection by a security perimeter for a brief period of time?

While I now reached the highest rank I only did work for the federals to get access to Sol.
And I did buy an Imperial Cutter (used as a trader in CGs) but it was for one reason: what else to do with the money.
This whole ranking system only shows that I did simple work (mostly running freight and messages) for the Empire and nothing about my political leaning or such.

I prefer the way the Alliance handles things.

I think the whole point of Alliance is that it doesn't have a solid hierarchy and centralized authority body. Also, no single organization that would act as a centralized command for Navy. So absence of ranks and availability of ships works in terms of lore.

And where exactly did I contradict any of this? Did you actually read the post?

I think the Alliance situation is on purpose. It gives the SJWs something to whine about.
What else would they do with their too much time?

Nobody "deserves" anything. (except maybe a smack upside the head)

Plus it gives us normal people something to laugh at. Like Edmund.

While this is either a troll or a display of questionable character, FD dissing Alliance on purpose would fit a pattern. Perhaps the C&P nonsense and total non-effort to keep Open from becoming a shark pool of an online equivalent of school yard bullies is all on purpose. Maybe David Braben is an aynrandian ultra-libertarian and wants the Elite universe to reflect his ideal world, in which the truly free and deserving nietzschean übermensch rule over the lesser individual as true machiavellian lords! Fairness and rule of law are for the weak! Only by abolishing such childish notions can the select few be truly free!

You contradict it by saying Alliance should issue you with a title and special perks...

Oh, I didn't know Alliance was an anarchosocialistic Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communist society (which will only make me love them more!). The fact that they have a government and appointed/elected officials must have distracted me from this fact!

In the same way EU has elected government and officials, but you could hardly say EU could issue military ranks. It's still a business of each individual state within it.

If you had indeed read the post, you would have noticed I was not suggesting formal ranks similar to Feds or Imps. And since the Alliance officials wield quite a bit of power (more than EU officials do) and deal with two competing super powers, them having an intelligence apparatus and field operators makes sense. Since you mentioned EU - it's pretty clear that the EU is working towards having a more unified foreign policy and has for example rapid response military units. Also, what are Alliance Enforcers then, if not representatives of a central government and/or law-enforcement?

That is true, but it is also mentioned that a body of neutral public officers keeps things together, so, maybe use civilian-police rank maybe? Clerk, officer, deputy, sheriff, chief, inspector, sub-minister... something like that.

As a variant. Instead of ranks and titles to use something less formalistic. Maybe "steps" or "dan" or some new word.

It is imaginable, that some kind of "the elders council" can give some recognition for great "warrior, explorer etc" from their "tribe". And such "recognition" would be approved by close tribe. Even by enemies, if we look at history. Difference from history would be that own name is chosen by player, like is today, but such "step or dan" would be somewhat randomized. Very rough suggestion on a picture.

Of course, such "the steps" might be much more. Much higher steps might have more important characteristic etc.

Also, such "randomizer-discs" may have thousands and more synonymes and close words. imho.

ALLIANCE GIANT RHINOCEROS is way more catchy than King or Admiral, tbh

Presumably many species of the Earth will disappear by then. Will people of that era use names of those species, which they never saw?
Probably more likely they will use more freguently names of extra-terrestrial species, which characteristics they see in their present tense.
But i will agree, that we can't know, how will think those peoples and and what they will consider normal and logical.
