Species Spotlight - African Spurred Tortoise

sulcata-tortoise3.jpg

The African Spurred Tortoise is the third biggest tortoise species and is named after the large pointed scales on the tortoise's forelimbs. It is a species that is common in captivity and seen often as pets. The tortoise is native to the Sahara desert and is the largest mainland species of tortoise. They can live more than 70 years and are unfortunately listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.

African Spurred Tortoises aren't normally talked about for DLC in Planet Zoo and it's understandable as it's similar to animals we already have in the game and there seem to be a very limited number of slots. However, the African Spurred Tortoise will add variety to Planet Zoo's lacking desert roster, and provide the game with another reptile and tortoise that looks visually distinct to the two we have in the game. I've personally loved these guys since being introduced to them in ZT2 and have another visually distinct tortoise will do wonders for the diversity in this game. They're up there with Radiated Tortoises, Sea Turtles, and Snapping Turtles for my most wanted or the turtle group. What kind of turtles/ reptiles would you guys love to have?
