splitting large passenger groups between cabins?

I would really like to see the capability to split passenger groups up. I currently have a first class cabin and an economy one. if the cabin quality is good enough for a large group, but doesn't have enough seats, it only makes sense to be able to split the group up.

Also, when I load I'm a four person group into a cabin with 12 seats, it leaves 8 empty seats, I would like to have the option to fill the empty seats so I can maximise my profit instead of just having empty cabins.

The passenger missions are awesome though, by far one of the best ways to earn money in the game.

No, that's an intended mechanic, down to you to choose the best mix for the return you get. They are meant to be passengers, not cargo.

If you book a cabin out then they wouldn't expect you to dump someone else in there/split parties up etc.

I don't think it is intended.

Since missions with numbers larger than a single cabin size but less than combined size show up as acceptable and not under requirements not met, but when you then select it you can't split between cabins.

Either should show requirements not met, or should allow you to split between cabins.

Now now, when a group of people is travelling together they don't want to share a cabin with another group of people. Unless they are swingers, which should.be clearly stated in the mission description! :D

Also a group of people travelling together wouldn't want to be broken appart.

The VIPs who don't want to share a cabin with other groups, yes, absolutely - all part of the design.

The bulk passengers are mostly less picky, but have a slightly odd behaviour:
If you have two cabins providing 10 economy each (total 20) then you can take a group of 12 bulk economy passengers fine, and they'll split between the two cabins, leaving 8 spaces free for other bulk economy passengers.

If you have two cabins providing a total of 12 business-class, you can put the same group of 12 bulk economy passengers into those cabins and that's also fine.

If you have one 10-space economy cabin and one 6-space business cabin, you can't put the 12 bulk economy passengers on your ship at all despite having space for them.

(There are interface complications from allowing that, which is presumably why you can't do it, but it always seems a bit odd when it comes up)

I think with Economy you can put passengers from multiple missions in the same module. It's only Business and First Class modules that are exclusive to the mission passengers.
