IMPORTANT: Spooky Pack new DLC coming soon!

Have you noticed, that this DLC will be released BEFORE the Frontier Expo??? What should they show at the Expo show, if they release now an larger Expansion Pack with dfferent themes. For PC are 3 new DLC slots reserved in the Data Base, one is now reserved for the Spooky Pack, so two slots are still open for upcoming things ... we should wait 'til the Frontier Expo is over.

The devil's advocate in me supspects that Frontier's gonna hint at some sort of sequel or standalone spinoff at the Expo; As I feel that many of the game's current flaws and shortcomings are a result of deeper design decisions that cannot be fixed without a complete do-over. That would, however, mark the current game and any paid expansions end-of-life, and if they would have announced the sequel and this DLC at once, people will think twice before investing any further in the current game. So it's better to release the DLC a few weeks earlier and be so vague about it's actual content that a major part of the community will buy it out of curiosity or blind faith. Too cynical? I bloody hope so.

The new coaster will be an Intamin Reverse Freefall.

Thank you for your constructive feedback :)

I just want to reply on that last comment, whats the alternative ? As im affraid that would result in simply not having as many DLC packs :)

Vampiro, I can see what you mean. I have had a while to think about it, and must admit, that I can't really think of a viable solution! Maybe my hatred for EA has clouded my thought on this whole thing (Boooooo EA!). I just personally think that it should go

Free DLC:
- Any and all roller-coasters and flat rides
- Expansions on the already included theme sets (Western, Space, Adventure, Generic etc)

Paid DLC:
- Major new themes (Horror, Historic [Egypt, Roman, Greek etc] Licensed IPs etc)
- Expansions similar to Soaked! and Wild! should PlanCo get round to that sort of thing.

There is certainly a lot to be debated back and forth! Not everyone will be kept happy no matter which way you go. Either way, I stand with Frontier and whilst I do have small niggles, I'm honestly happy to just be playing this game and enjoy the community [happy]

You can scrap that one off your list, since the new DLC screenshots obviously show (paid) extensions on the castle wall set. Quite a scummy move, since the community has been very vocal about every building set being incomplete in some way, some even lacking the most basic pieces. And now they are expanding one of the incomplete sets (to a currently unknown degree) via payed DLC.

One can argue whether the Spooky theme is a new set at all, since the few spooky assets that made it into the base game were considered part of the Fantasy set.

Hiya, thanks for the feedback :) we've seen a lot of free content throughout this past year with Planet Coaster, with the team working incredibly hard on all of it. Sometimes, packs like these will be paid for - and you get a lot of content for that value. Thanks for understanding and respecting the hard work of the team :)!

Hi Bo, I bought all the DLCs last time all the car sets. I did this to support Frontier, however I and others were looking for a more substantial type package such as an animatronics maker so we can create amazing designs and rides with it. This would be more beneficial than pre-programmed DLCs and it would be fair to pay £29.95 for a package like this.

Also as an addition having an animatronics DLC package will be a very good seller.

I am sitting on the fence regarding this DLC - I have backed off playing PC as I am waiting for more innovative and creative packages!

When will Frontier be releasing these types of packages?

I highly doubt that is something we will ever get, that would be a very complex tool to create

You know, I just figured it out. I've played this game for almost 1000 hours. Divide that by my cost (including this DLC), and I have been entertained for about 90 cents an hour. Seriously, ninety cents an hour!

All over this site all I keep seeing is whiners talking about how much money they have to shell out for this, or for other expansions, or how much the "micro" ones cost. These full and complete expansions that are being talked about, what's the price point going to be on these? 30? 40? 50? Will that be worth it because they're including like a million new pieces in these yet to ever be announced grand expansions?

These same people will then run out to Starbucks and drop six bucks on some coffee that lasts what, fifteen minutes?. And not for one second see the irony in that.

How about a little perspective, huh?

I dare everyone here to divide their cash outlay by time playing, (even including the cost of this DLC) and then tell me with a straight face that you could do any better financially elsewhere.

Come on, I dare you!!!

Mooooving swiftly on because I really don't wanna continue the argument over cost here. If you think it's too much money, don't buy it. Simple.

Anyway, as we saw from the screenshots, BOOKSHELVES will be part of the DLC! They look great, even better than the one I made with art pieces (which tbh isn't half bad either really) :D

Sorry just really wanted to move away from the arguments... [uhh]

After watching the live stream, I have to say the spooky set is definitely better than the licensed Dlcs!!

Lol do you even read the reasons why people are complaining? There is a difference between people saying "this game sucks" and "this game could use some improvements in key areas" [weird]

there were rumors last year that the devs were working on a CSO/UGC editor

1) I actually think some things that are broken are actually within the "car engine" here and that they are going to be hard to fix. I also believe some of these problems are going to be visible later on, when more and more content is added.
That was my point, that it may take a lot of time to fix some of the problems. Patience is a virtue.

2) Ok, you don´t care, but I and some other people do care.

But why? It doesn't hurt anybody. If you don't by the DLC, you can't use some blueprints. So?
It's your choice not to buy the DLC. Workshop items using DLC are added value to the cost of the DLC.

Stream was great, it's optional, you don't have to buy it, they're working for a living, I don't mind giving them £8 since, you know, it's bloody £8, and I play this game all the time, so I'm getting my moneys worth. Not to mention the fact that all of this stuff they're giving us is stuff I've been wanting for a long time, so I'm happy to fund them in the hopes that they make more things we've been asking for.

Or, you know, we can just complain some more and push them to just abandon Planet Coaster because no-one's willing to pay a small price for big content packs, right?

Yes, I read the entire thread. There is just as much talk about cost of this versus that as there is fix this or that.

My point is that there is a definite value to what is already out there, whether you (or anyone) believes the game is broken/sucks/under or over valued or not (see BJ's broken car analogy post).

Citytrader...people complaining simply about the cost, don't go to Starbucks.

I guess I was trying to use sarcasm to get my point across. I would love for anyone to tell me where else you can be entertained for ninety cents an hour.
I was not addressing the game being "broken" or "unfinished" as some have complained about because I for one do not feel it is.
