IMPORTANT: Spooky Pack new DLC coming soon!

Let's wait for some more details before jumping on the hate and/or hype train people. Come one, we are civilized human beings..

On a side note, is the Stream of today showcasing the new DLC?

They announced that there will be some screenshots of the spooky theme for the livestram.

Oh the horror! The splitting of the workshop!!!
Expansion packs like RCT3 would split the workshop as well. So?
I think you're smart enough to understand how bigger packs (or bundles) would help minimize the fragmentation. Expansions would be more popular, if they released a large expansion more people would be enticed to have them if they contained valid gameplay content. Nobody wants to pick and choose from small packs, either people will buy everything or they will buy nothing

The only people that the workshop would be split for, is those not buying the DLC's.
Too bad. So sad!
Thats not true, and I think youre not thinking fairly here. For people who DO buy the DLC, they will see less views on their blueprints they upload. Meaning, if somebody wants to upload blueprints using DLC, they might be dissappointed when they see few people downloading their work. Maybe that is not a concern to you which is fine, but I know for a fact that there are people who this bothers. Maybe the spooky scenery will be better, but the first 3 DLCs were not popular. The worst part about it is how there is one window in the DLC which is very useful to people.

How dare Frontier try to make money! [weird]
numerous people say things like that, and your argument is officious. Nobody is asking for free content, your simply trying to make us sound like were idiots.

"But I paid for Alpha access!!! I should get more for free!!!"
Yeah, you paid FOR Alpha access, that's it! Sure, they could give this stuff for free to those that
bought the Alpha. But A lot of people didn't. Wouldn't that split the holy workshop???

Honestly, I feel bad for people who purchased alpha. I bought PC on sale for $30 because I knew that paying for alpha was a joke. I've been saying that sense before the alpha launched in March 2016. I feel bad for coaster head members, and i especially feel bad for those who purchased VIP groups or VIP staff to only find out later on how they were lame. Ive been on these forums enough to see quite a lot of people post something about "wheres the group guests editor" or "this is all i got for the extra $60 I spent?"

Everytime somebody says that the alpha money was spent on playing the game early, I wonder what would have happened if frontier had released the full game without an alpha, would it really have changed things?? The alpha created publicity and hype, it gave the devs free testing and prevented people from complaining about bugs (for a while) the entire industry is built around extrapolating every little dollar they can get from people. Gaming is a multi billion dollar business that at times surpassed the movie industry in terms of profits. There are a lot of people at frontier whos job it is is to decide exactly how to make the most profits, and based on their DLC scenery packs, they are making sure to get as much as they can out of people who ARE willing to fork over cash for scenery kits and ride skins.

With every add-on they are extremly vague, with the VIP group pass they made it sound like it was the only way to get a guest editor. When they released the first 3 DLCs there was no announcement at all, and many people made posts saying "I wish I realized how small these DLCs were before I wasted my money"

I am allowed to express my feelings here and Frontier likes the feedback so they can get it. They can do what they want with it. It wont change anything about this DLC but it would be handy to take it in for future decisions. This is the very first time i am actually really displeased about something in/about the game.

Why does a lot of people compare PC with RCT? Who said that upcoming content has to be included sinds the beginning? I ordered the pre-alpha version and bought all of the last DLC‘s and I’m more than happy with extra content, for an extra amount of money. It is not like microtransactions in mobile games. The time between the DLCs is more than ok and I see the amount as an extra payment and not as an on top payment for content that should have been sinds the beginning. Yes and I’m missing some rides and waterfutures. But I guess they will surprise us with big updates.

As I said, I’m happy with paid DLCs. Hard work has to be paid. The whole world isn’t for free! And it is by the way due to yourself to buy it or leave it.

I was more than happy to pay around 80?!€ for the alpha version. I enjoyed it and played it month before release.

Never said that! you can said what you want, I just said that it is not necessary to complain for the same things again and again ;) send a mail to frontier and explain your problems, we can't do what you want we are also PC players.

It wasn't just about you personally. It just annoys me when people point out legit stuff that is wrong and has been wrong for quite some time that then there are people who throw childish remarks about how they are never happy and want everything for free and blabla.

Yes the content is going to look amazing. We already know that (even when we haven't seen it) but it's safe to say because all the previous content also looked amazing. But, why give your car a new paintjob or set of pimped rims before you fix the engine? Alot of stuff that has been asked for for so long just keeps getting ignored unless you get 20-page threads about it (like the friction). We always get those copy paste replies about "yes we will always try to improve and do the best blabla smiley face" but then in the end you get a scenery pack.

So what about the actual game?

This isn't "some people are never happy and they always complain". This is legit criticism. And that so many people give this crticisim just shows how much they care for the game and want to see it turn in the best game ever. Otherwise they wouldn't be here! They would be long gone and forget about it. But they post this criticism because they want to love it but sometimes the radio silence and no insight in what they are improving about the actual game makes it so difficult sometimes. Right now the game aspect is just lacking. There isn't much gameplay or improvement over the general experience, just extra visual placable stuff. But that's just about this new DLC, i still hope deep down that November will be a QOL gamechanger.

Yup. Everyone is allowed to express their feelings. And they are free to be challenged as well.

They can do what they want with it. It wont change anything about this DLC but it would be handy to take it in for future decisions. This is the very first time i am actually really displeased about something in/about the game.

If Frontier keeps hitting their target $$$$ goals with DLC, they will keep offering it.
No matter how many criticize the decision. Money talks.
Surely they don't think EVERYONE will buy it. This isn't their first rodeo.
Maybe the paid DLC helps fund work on an expansion pack?

I understand what you mean. We can wait Frontier expo to see if Frontier has heard the demands of the PlanCo community ;) it is "only"2 big weeks [wacky]

Then what happened to all the extra money frontier made on pre-orders and bonus content? surely they made a ton of extra money on the VIP passes and foundation stones and coaster head members?? was all that money spent to make these current DLCs??

@bitter

I can truly understand that. Its business and i know it will be great as ramm points out. But he also has a statement about it being the most beautiful car in the world but it having several issues under the hood doesnt make it the best car in the world.

Like i said. The anniversary update needs to be a very good one or i will be scratching my head again.

Some people still cannot get the difference between having like 4 big expansions, or 4 big expansions and 15 smaller DLCs (such as the spooky one) and 20 small DLCs (previous 3 DLCs´) Yes, any kind of paid expansion will split the workshop, it´s the only question how much fragmented it´s going to be...

Micro-transactions could be implemented in completely different way without splitting workshop.

This is definitely not a micro-transaction,just look whats in the pack. Two tracked rides walls,scenery,animatronics,doors(100 items total of scenery). And one of the tracked rides(belived to be either omnimover or doombuggy) has special rotation that you can control[rolleyes].What would be a big expansion for you? Also they will be releasing a very big FREE update in november so this is just a bonus feature[wink].

Its a micro-transaction when you compare it to the base game. Theres 3 DLCs at $4, we now have an $11 DLC, and there are 2 more DLCs coming soon. If the next 2 DLCs are priced similarly to the spooky set, that brings the cost of DLC to about $45+ which is not equal to the amount of content we got in the base game. Then factor in the pre-order VIP bonuses, it adds up to a list of various small DLC packs. When compared to the expansions of RCT it doesnt seem like a good idea to have DLC costing more than the base game, especially considering the DLC is primarily scenery. I really hope Planet Ghoster isnt just another reskin of the same entertainer

Still haven´t got the point? I called this a smaller DLC (that´s it and also consider that within these 100 items, half of it mightl be wall pieces only with different texture applied).

So again, the more of these DLC we get, the less effective workshop gets. I also said that micro-transactions would be better compared to paid DLCs (actually). I can think of many things I would be able to pay for, yet without splitting workshop. Car skins, entertainers or campaign maps (yes, that would be even cheaper to produce and if it was good enough, I would pay 10 bucks for each without problem and with good feeling I supported developers. All I named could be easily implemeted without affecting workshop and you could come up with even more ideas....

Analogies are always flawed.
Most of the things that are "broken" are just some players opinions.
Some others are not necessities.
A few things are truly broken, and I am sure they will be addressed.
Some broken things might take a lot of time to figure out the problem.

My dad had an '82 Camaro Z28 Pace Car edition. It had after market are conditioning.
He had problems for YEARS, that the car would overheat, stall, and not start until it was cool.
I owned the car the late '90's and the problem still existed. it was in countless shops trying to figure out the problem.
Finally I had a guy figure out the problem. It was because the after market a/c grill was in front of the radiator, and the radiator was a single core. Put in a double or triple core (can't remember) radiator and the problem was solved! FIFTEEN YEARS LATER!! Yet it was such a simple fix!!!

So yeah, I believe things will get fixed, eventually. Most of the real problems can be worked around for now.
It's not like the car has engine trouble, and isn't drivable while they are giving it a new paint job.

I get it. Still don't care. There are 1,000,000 things in the workshop prior to the DLC's.
1,000,000 things!!!!! If there were two more expansion packs, and each garnered 1,000,000 additional things, if you don't buy both expansion packs, you can't have 2,000,000 new things!!!! It's the consumers choice to gain access to those 2,000,000 things, or not.

no need to be offensive [rolleyes]

It's the consumers choice

so if Im a consumer, Im allowed to choose right? Oh but your saying Im not allowed to choose AND voice my opinion, because its not the same as yours... I see

I get it. Still don't care.

right... thats why you keep posting that anybody who disagrees with you is wrong, but some of us actually do care

It doesnt all seem to be that planned out.
Oh its definitely all going according to plan, they announced the DLC way back in February but then delayed it because there were other things that got bumped up instead. But based on the pre-order bonus items, the DLC was planned from the beginning

100+ items, missed that part. So this sounds at least that its worth the money. And money aint the deal.

As is the workshop you can still download the blueprints but not use them any further. The dlcs are still visible in game right?

Its more the path they are going. It doesnt all seem to be that planned out.

1) I actually think some things that are broken are actually within the "car engine" here and that they are going to be hard to fix. I also believe some of these problems are going to be visible later on, when more and more content is added.

2) Ok, you don´t care, but I and some other people do care.

Thanks for all the feedback! We appreciate it.

I've just posted about tonight's livestream as well; we're going to be showing some really awesome screenshots of the Spooky Pack and I think it will give you some answers to your questions. Would love if you could all join in the chat!

Can´t wait to see that. Don´t take my opinion as a hate towards the team, I´m just concerned about this quite a bit. I hoped you would give us other, more modern options to support you financialy.

THX Bo - - the one shot you already teased with...is enough for me to say the pack looks like it will be worth it already.
