Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

If we get a Latin America Animal Pack, and these 7 animals are the only 7 south american animals to still make it into the game, which 7 do you pick? And why?
  1. Southern Tamandua - Another climbing xenarthran, but not creatively constrained by having a set layout in a giant box this time, these guys would make a great and versatile addition to tropical houses and are very different from the one anteater species we have.
  2. Patagonian Mara - Can never have enough caviomorphs, I would add both the mara and an agouti if I could but I definitely feel that Patagonia needs the representation more.
  3. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey - Ideally if we only get three South American primates I'd hope for each to fill a different "size niche", and of the larger monkeys I find a spider monkey much more interesting than any other potential choice (howler monkey, saki etc) given that they brachiate and just generally move unlike other monkeys.
  4. Golden Lion Tamarin - Filling out the small monkey niche (capuchin is medium), I probably prefer other tamarin species like the emperor and cotton-top personally but there's little question that this is the most iconic.
  5. South American Coati - Charismatic as ever, this is the last essential carnivoran for me after we got the fossa this year. Other South American carnivorans like the ocelot and spectacled bear don't have as strong of an appeal to me as they do to most other people but I fully expect them to appear in a pack like this if it were to come about.
  6. Greater Rhea - Regardless of how similar they are to the ratites we currently have, a rhea feels essential for fleshing out the more open regions of South America. I don't really have a preference between the lesser and greater rhea, both have their advantages and disadvantages, but greater is the more popular species and the one I expect them to go with.
  7. Red-legged Seriema - Either the poor man's secretary bird or the better secretary bird depending on who you ask, I'm definitely in the latter group. These raptor-clawed last living relatives of the terror birds are significantly more common in zoos, at least in Europe, and are one of the key missing species from South America's tropical and subtropical grasslands in my eyes. Not in the top 100 but they deserve to be.
  8. Exhibit animal isn't included here but could be any cool reptile or amphibian really - green anaconda, emerald tree boa, plumed basilisk, cane toad, mata-mata, etc etc. Prefer them over another sloth

I’d pick for a Latin America Pack:

White Nosed Coati
• Southern Tamandua
• Greater Rhea
• Spectacled Bear
• Scarlet Ibis
• Roseate Spoonbill
• (Geoffroy’s) Spider Monkey

One monkey, three birds, one bear and two small arboreal animals. Not a bad lineup whilst still being realistic, IMO.

I’d choose the Linnaeus’ Two Toed Sloth for the Walkthrough Exhibit, being realistic. With that many birds in the habitat roster, I’d not be mad to see no birds in the exhibit. Plus, the Two Toed Sloth is needed for us realism fans and could be an opportunity for Frontier to rework the awful ‘Sloth Frames’.

Really hoping to see a Latin America Animal Pack in the coming summer. I’d rather the Spring Scenery pack be dedicated to domestic species, followed by this kind of pack to give us MORE LA diversity.

  1. Spectacled Bear - My most wanted animal
  2. Bush Dog
  3. Black Howler Monkey
  4. South American Coati
  5. Tamandua
  6. Spider Monkey or Squirrel Monkey
  7. Greater Rhea
  8. Walk-through exhibit animal - Tamarins
Additional opiton: Lowland Tapir as "clone" in this pack. It is also very common in zoos, I barely used Baird's Tapir which make me want to have another tapir species, Lowland Tapir.

Now this is a tough one! Probably something like this for me:
  1. Coati
  2. Golden lion tamarin
  3. Black howler monkey
  4. Greater rhea
  5. Red rumored agouti
  6. Spectacled bear
  7. Scarlet ibis
If wishful thinking: macaws in walk through exhibit

  1. South american coati: fits small spaces; either coati is fine, but I prefer this one because of its ringed tail
  2. Ocelot: striking spotted kitty
  3. Spectacled bear: iconic
  4. Patagonian mara: looks like God crossed a capabara with a jackrabbit
  5. Southern tamandua: weird-looking arboreal anteater? Yes!
  6. Scarlet Ibis or Roseate spoonbill: so gorgeous, either one would do me just fine
  7. Southern pudu: I love small, unusual-looking animals and this one is so homely it's... cute

If we do get a Latin American Animal Pack, here are the species I'd want:

1. Coati (either type, I'd prefer the White-Nosed Coati but the South American Coati would be a fine alternative)
2. Ocelot
3. Spectacled Bear (the obligatory large reskin animal imo)
4. Black Howler Monkey
5. Spider Monkey or Squirrel Monkey
6. Greater Rhea (another big flightless bird, but tbh any new birds are a good thing at this point)
7. Patagonian Mara or Southern Tamandua (if we're going to get more South American animals, we might as well get some of the unique and strange ones)
8. Basically any exhibit animal. I would hope for some sort of tropical bird as a walkthrough exhibit, but I'd be happy with pretty much any other exhibit animal.

Africa and Arid - Africa
Southest Asia, Conservation and Tropical - Asia
Europe and Eurasia - Europe
Australia and Oceania - Oceania
North America and Twilight - North America
Wetlands, Aquatic and Grasslands - General

U know who's left, right? 😏
Twilight is still General for me 😃. There are 2 out of 5 animals from NA. The Red Fox is living across the whole northern Hemisphere plus Northern Africa. The Same could be said about Aquatic that it is a SA Pack 2.0. I mean when I compare it with the Twilight Pack.

Yeah imo I could imagine us getting a Temperate or Woodlands pack that's just another North America pack with a few outliers, the same way the Twilight pack was.

For me twilight was more of a European thing because of the scenery pieces but it's true that in term of species it was more NA. I hope your theorie is the good one because the 2 DLCs I want most now are a South America and a Tundra (Arctic) DLC

North america + Tundra? :D Musk Ox, walrus, snow goose, sea otter and generic exhibit animal I can't think of.

I'm thinking that instead of a Tundra pack, we might get a "Frigid Animal Pack". Perhaps if we get another year of support, this would be the last pack we get in Winter of 2024. In such a pack, they could mix cold weather Tundra and Taiga animals together into one pack. Species could include the Muskox, Walrus, American Black Bear, Sea Otter, American Elk/Wapiti, Snow Goose, Arctic Hare, and whatever cold weather exhibit animal they want to go with.

Honest question to those who didn't want a domestic pack:

Many of y'all mentioned that y'all didn't want this kinda pack if PlanZo ended support in winter 2023, but if we were to get some DLC in 2024, then it'd be ok.

So, how would y'all feel if spring 2024 was to be a scenery domestic animal DLC?
I would actually be totally okay with that. It would be a good filler DLC for Spring.

I think the Last Pack will be Something around the world. A colder Scenery Pack still could Happen either spring or autumn in my opinion.
