Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

It feels illegal not to talk about bunnies on easter when we don't have them. What bunny do you guys want?

I say bring whatever rabbit/hare that fits best into a pack.
If we get another desert pack in the future, maybe with a wild west theme, add the black tailed jackrabbit.
If another Tundra/Polar pack is up bring the arctic or mountain hare.
With a petting zoo pack obviously a domestic breed is the best

Rabbits or hares would be great. They're instantly recognizable animals. Practically anyone above a toddler age (and quite a few of those!), with any knowledge of animals, no matter how little, knows what a rabbit is. They don't get a lot of discussion or drops into the various meta lists we've had because they're just not look at as zoo animals. That's not to say that zoos don't have them, many do, but they're part of that group of animals that people just don't think of when they think of zoos. The number of people excited about seeing rabbits at a zoo is probably pretty low. Despite all that, I'd definitely be happy getting one or more

ETA; scratch that part about many zoos having them. I took a look at Zootierlist and they're actually not that commonly kept.

Well lagomorphs are incredibly common zoo animals, but the only one that has any real presence is the domestic rabbit with like 800 holdings in EU.
Kinda strange that the wild ones arent kept like at all. They are small so dont need a huge space, energetic and cute, seems like a decent zoo animal to me

There’s a unique episode of the Zoo that shows how the Bronx zoo was breeding New England cottontails. They explained that the rabbit had been pushed out of its natural range and plans were made to reintroduce the cottontails to their native ranges.
Of all the lagomorphs that I have looked up, I would nominate the European Hare as the nominee.
While snowshoes hares are cool and a Arctic rep, the jackrabbits would be a great inclusion for southwestern USA, I think a European representative would be best considering how many NA animals we have compared to EU.
European hares are also one of the largest lagomorphs.
