Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

I think Eurasias was 29 days, I looked back at the winter speculation thread and someone on the 28th said it was updated 22 days ago so I’d assume around a month. But there are a lot of changes with timing obviously this go around so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s less.

On twitter a lot of the content creators have addressed the LQA update, and I’m wondering if this is just because it’s a new piece of information (probably) or if they already know in advance of the announcement coming later this week.
None of them know anything beyond what we do. And that's the case until a few days before the DLC drops when they actually have it installed. Hah. It's just something to talk about and get people hyped.

And by "people," I mean myself. It's me. I'm the hyped person.
Honestly, I don't know why people are talking about 5 weeks. Maybe that was for the last jwe DLC? For Planet Zoo the outsource_lqa is usually updated about 2 weeks before the announcement. If it's a standard pack, we can get the pack at the end of April. My theory was it would be released on Earth Day (April 22), but that might be too tight. So my new theory is that they will announce the pack on Earth Day and it will be released the following week.
The times range. But yeah, it could definitely be shorter this time around. And there's a lot of reasons that could be the case.

Less is definitely a possibility (and a very strong one, TBH). I've speculated that the Internal_01 version is what they use for testing and to take screenshots. But there's zero way to prove that and no data to track/support it. Just a hunch.

It’s always been about 4-5 weeks from an lqa update to release for PZ packs too.

I really don’t believe this is our last pack. Maybe it’s copium but I just feel so strongly that there will be more DLC for Planet Zoo this year 🤞

Yeah I think so too. I mean if we look at Frontier's Zoo Tycoon before, they released an updated version 4 years after the original game with new animals. Should we be positive, Frontiers could give us the copium pack until they can whip up a mega expansion for Planet Zoo. Just a thought lol

Do you guys think the next new DLC pack will launch on consoles aswell simultaneously?

As a disclaimer I'm a console player and totally fine with waiting for the DLC to come after the season pass finishes because I'm just grateful to have the game on console.

Just curious because they said they would add the peccary and most recent update (souvenir shops) at a later date so the new DLC may come after the season pack content is all released next year for console?
Seeing it's delayed on PC, that might be the strategy, it's probably not though (what ever the case, I doubt it's part of the Season Pass).

Looking at the steamDB here's some LQA update times (going through update history starting from the release of a DLC, using Ctrl+F, you just need a steamDB login to go this far. Dates are by Australian time):
  • Eurasia LQA: 6th of November (5 weeks from 13th of December release)
  • Oceania LQA: 15th of August (5 weeks from 19th of September release)
  • Arid LQAs: 19th, 22nd & 23rd of May (5 weeks from 20th of June release)
  • Tropical LQAs: 14th & 15th of March (3 weeks from 4th of April release)
  • Grassland LQAs: 21st & 22nd of November (3 weeks from 13th of December release)
  • Twilight LQA: 23rd of September (4 weeks from 18th of October release)
  • Conservation LQAs: 26th & 30th of May (4 weeks from 21st of June release)
  • Wetland LQAs: 21st & 29th of March (3 weeks from 12th of April release)
Release seems to be at least the 3rd week after LQA update week. The time period for the next DLC release seems to be in the range of 29th of April, to the 19th of May.

You mean the good zoo Tycoon or the Bad one?

Yes haha

I was trying to find what new animals and then i thought you might be refering to the... eh... inferior version.
I can't deny lol. But the point is Frontiers took 4 years to update the "inferior" version. So what if they used the same amount of time to update this one? It's gonna be quite an update and surely it wouldn't be something bad. Heck I'll wait the same amount of time for more birds and exhibit box mammals lol. But having said that, I guess it'd simply be Planet Zoo 2 at that point lol.

1. You guys realize date for last lqa update is literally written on this screnshoot? 6th November, so 37 days before Eurasia release.
2. Dont forget about JWE2 DLC being released first, due to being priority game.

At this point I just want new animals lol
yep I have over a 100 animals on my bingo card it would be very hard for frontier to make a pack that wasnt at least passable. So far the only pack that had no animals I wanted was aquatic.
The sloth bear is easily the hardest for me to understand. I get that they wanted to throw a bone to india in the eurasia pack, which i think is definetly the right choice.
But the animal choice they chose for it is just so weird to me. India already had 3 bears to chose from, so giving it the 4fth one instead of blackbuck, langur or something is just so bizarre to me. Its wasnt even a super highly requested animal either. Although it was probably one of that took the most amount of effort.
Its like doing an americas pack and the SA representative is another caiman instead of literally anything else
The sloth bear was a weird pick everything else in the pack had a secondary theming of gold climate besides the bear which means if you were to build for every animal in the pack the bear would be out of place

I would find it very strange if not since there will likely be at least a month difference between both console release and the dlc and the would of been planned well ahead of time and it would just mean even more catch up for them later.

Ah thank you! Legend! I was very certain in my 5 week timeframe but I had no evidence, good to know the data backs it up.

Less than 5 weeks would be excellent (psst, Frontier my birthday is 2nd May 😉).

Really appreciate this post <3 Four years of DLCs and I didn't even look into the pattern lmao

Sorry friends, the only DLC I can think of is bird. A large, suitable for this season, and popular among people
So my bet this time is on a flying bird DLC
I know many people may have given up🙃, but I think the likelihood of it being a flying bird this time is also not low
