Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Bat-eared Fox >> Bandicoot
OR Serval which would be well received by the community, Honey badger, quoll there are so many...
I like your other choices though! UNLESS you want the bandicoot as one of your top wishlist animals? Then, yes, its a perfect roster.
I just think bandicoot's kind of random... That's all.
Honestly, the bandicoot was my oddball choice. I know the other animals, except maybe the horned lizard, are mentioned a lot. Also, kind of wanted to spread it around to multiple areas, and figured I'd throw in a fun critter from Australia to round it out. I'd be fine with your suggestions too. Especially the Quoll, cause the Eastern Quoll is found in shrublands and is another fun critter from down under.

no banidcoot more is superior then another fox I would be fine if it became the quoll though

Alpine Pack Hummingbirds:
1. Sparkling Violetear
2. Giant Hummingbird
3. Anna's Hummingbird
4. Green-Tailed Trainbearer
5. Calliope Hummingbird

These all live or are even endemic to the Rockies/Andes! They all have at least one captive presence too.

I'll throw out an idea. I like the idea of a Shrublands pack. We'll get a lot of new shrubs, dry grasses, cactuses, etc. As for animals, my choices would be:
Secretary Bird
Long Nosed Bandicoot
Greater Roadrunner
Patagonian Mara
Texas Horned Lizard

A nice mix of Africa, Australia, and North/South America
I do like the idea of a shrublands pack, honestly. But I'd personally go with a half-n-half Africa and Australia for it like the Tropical Pack:
1. Hamadryas Baboon - Wouldn't be surprised if they keep holding this one off just because they know it'll drive demand high enough to use it as a selling point in this pack.
2. Secretary Bird - Probably the most popular animal for the game at present, and definitely the most popular bird. Would be surprised if support continues and we don't get it.
3. Short-Beaked Echidna - Probably the final Australian animal that I'd consider necessary to complete the roster. Finishes the monotremes and is quite unique, even by insectivore standards.
4. Greater Bilby - Probable flagship of the pack considering it's cuteness. One of the more notable conservation stories from Australia so would be worth including even if not found outside the country. May even be somewhat of a basis for rabbits later.
E. Texas Horned Lizard - We just need more lizards. Literally any lizard could fit this slot.

I guess this is also a prediction, cus I would be sad if they revisit South America with a theme pack only. Basically fishing out the big two African animals still missing, plus some bonus Aussie rep before moving to finally address the tapir-in-the-room in summer.

Mine would be pretty similar but i would change the bandicoot for a bilby or echidna, or even a perentie. Would love roadrunner and mara, and well ofc secretary bird my most wanted bird besides the rhea.

We can have all these in one animal pack focused in alpine or south america for walkthrough exibith

Straying away from my Coastal Pack idea, these are the 3 packs I could see next:

Latin America Pack (60% chance)
  • Ocelot
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
  • Roseate Spoonbill
  • Kinkajou (this just feels like a frontier move)
  • Emerald Tree Boa (E)
Brazil themed scenery

Mountains Pack (15% chance, I just want it)
  • Markhor
  • Gelada
  • Pallas Cat
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Hummingbirds (WTE) or TIticaca Water Frog (E)
NA log cabin scenery set

Wings of the World Pack (40% chance)
  • Secretary Bird
  • Brown Pelican
  • Grey Crowned Crane
  • American Flamingo
  • Great Horned Owl (WTE)
150+ netting, mesh, metal pieces for building aviaries.

Africa and Arid - Africa
Southest Asia, Conservation and Tropical - Asia
Europe and Eurasia - Europe
Australia and Oceania - Oceania
North America and Twilight - North America
Wetlands, Aquatic and Grasslands - General

U know who's left, right? 😏
Or it could mean an animal dlc that gives animals for both Oceania and SA as they both haven’t gotten a dedicated animal dlc!
But yes in all seriousness SA and NA need immediate attention for the first half of 2024, preferably SA first as it got the least attention in 2023.
I somehow get a feeling that frontier is going to switch the formula this year and give us an animal dc first. With that in mind I could see a Latin/Central American dlc.

Guess who's here 👀
