Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

TBH I wouldn't. We already have two African scenery packs. In the extremely unlikely chance they did another African-themed pack, it ought to be an animal pack. Africa has plenty to fill such a pack. Near the top of the meta wishlist we have the baboon, secretarybird, and serval as a solid start. Another four "clones" would round it out, most probably antelope and/or the Barbary sheep. Ungulate haters would die inside but oh well.
Africa seems Not so unlikely to me as it just still has some really popular picks to integrate. And If they pick a more special Antelope Like the Dik Dik or the Gerneuk I am pretty sure far less people would claim. And two ungulates in a Pack is in my opinion not too much. Bigger mammal wise they are Just the most Common species which are Held in Most Zoos.

Here’s a weird question: do you think it’s possible we could get multiple of similar animals in a pack again? Like the 5 butterfly species in the arid pack.

Like maybe a pack where we could get multiple ducks? Something like that?

Edit: maybe it could work for marmosets too, like the pygmy and cotton top. Animals that will behave similarly and otherwise are just different in looks and sounds. For the duck example I was thinking along the lines of dabbling ducks, a diving duck would need new animations.
Probably a longshot and a more difficult process than should reasonably be expected, but I'd love to see something like 2 or 3 Tamarins in a Walkthrough/Non Walkthrough exhibit. Golden Lion, Cotton Top and Emperor Tamarins would be my wants there.

  1. Exhibit: African clawed frog (I couldn’t think of anything but I didn’t want another snake)
Chameleons exist

Also I'm just gonna go crazy and say: They gonna make yet another scenery pack for C/SA:
- Central America Pack (with just 4 animals, git gud) scenery: colonial theme
-- Pelican (epic)
-- Ocelot (trash)
-- White-nosed coati (the worse coati)
-- Geoffroy's spider monkey (good monke but not enough)
-- Walkthrough: Hoffman's two-toed sloth (a two-toed sloth for two-neuroned people)

On a more wishful thinking note, spring is also a season linked to the return of birds to their breeding grounds, so it would also be a great opportunity for a bird pack :) :) :) :) :) the hopium is real

I just dont really like the idea of still getting animal-scenery-animal-scenery anymore, I want all the packs to be animal packs.

Safari Pack
Hamadryas Baboon
Serval
Secretary Bird
Kirks Dik-Dik
Honey Badger
Grey-Crown Crane
African Spurred Tortoise

Honestly, there is something for everyone. Monkey ✅ 2 birds ✅ reptile ✅ unglate ✅ 2 carnivorans, because they are always popular ✅
I'd personally substitute either the honey badger or tortoise for a vervet monkey, just because we need literally any kind of monkey added at this point. And I'd probably rather have an Eland over a Dik-Dik, but either is good. I've come around to this theme a lot more recently.

I could see hummingbirds but that's it imo honestly.

I have strong doubt that we'll get tamarins in the walkthrough and especially multiple species. There is no reason imo, that they couldn't utilize the janky climbing system in game. Sure they are small, but the praire dogs are smaller (length) if you include the tamarins tail. Sure they weigh less, but both species are adapted for different habitats. We know that species in the walkthrough are in there because they fly, or move to slow for the games habitat mechanics (sloth). The tamarin doesnt fit either of those exsisting criteria. They also dont really have any glaring or unquie movements from other species that would pose a challenge to be implemented in habitats.
Also, lets say we get tamarins in the walkthrough. We've received one species of bat and sloth so why except multiples of other small mammals? In my opinion, we got 5 species of butterfly because it would be weird to have one exhibit devoted to one species. That doesnt really happen in most butterfly houses. However, while tamarins and bats defined have been mixed with other species, it's the norm and definitely not weird to only keep one species by itself.

My idea for a Safari Animal Pack

  • Masai Giraffe (clone animal, easy to do and add diversity for giraffes like rhinos and elephants have)
  • Greater Kudu (another antelope very iconic from african safari)
  • Olive baboon (I know community preffer the hamadryas but the olive specie is more common in savannah and safari)
  • African leopard (one of the big five safari's animals)
  • Secretary Bird (very requested by the community, a bird commun in savannah too)
  • Honey Badger (another requested animal and very interesting)
  • Nile crocodile (frontier loves crocodilians and also this game need just one more crocodilian, that specie is the best choice)
  • Black Mamba (very famous and present in savannah)

If we were to get a Safari Animal Pack (honestly not too unlikely) I think the secretary bird, serval, and a baboon are basically guarantees. Beyond that I think the ratel and some kind of antelope are very likely.

I would hope we would get something from outside of Africa too (blackbuck please) but honestly I'd expect it to be a fully African pack.

A potential Safari Pack would be Africa only I think. And that is okay. Africa has potentially the highest number of popular and iconic animals missing after South America and you can even make a really good animal Pack Out of it which would please a Lot of people as the example from @FoxyDee shows. Monkeys, Birds, Antelopes, Carnivores. And even reptiles. From everything you can find at least one high to High-Medium species. And at least I personally combine Safari only with Africa. Another Thing would be If you would call it Savannah Pack but even with this name a Lot of people still would combine it with Africa. The Blackbuck has nevertheless its chance as it could be a potential anniversary animal or the antelope to go within some kind of around the world Pack.

Honest question to those who didn't want a domestic pack:

Many of y'all mentioned that y'all didn't want this kinda pack if PlanZo ended support in winter 2023, but if we were to get some DLC in 2024, then it'd be ok.

So, how would y'all feel if spring 2024 was to be a scenery domestic animal DLC?
Personally I would prefer no domestics make it in really, I live on a farm, I see sheep, cows, chooks, horses, feral pigs, ect ect everyday. Much prefer exotics to be in the game.

I'll throw out an idea. I like the idea of a Shrublands pack. We'll get a lot of new shrubs, dry grasses, cactuses, etc. As for animals, my choices would be:
Secretary Bird
Long Nosed Bandicoot
Greater Roadrunner
Patagonian Mara
Texas Horned Lizard

A nice mix of Africa, Australia, and North/South America
Swap the bandicoot for the Bilby and id be happy. I guess they're more scrublands or desert animals but they're what I want in the game most really
