A flamingo makes a lot of sense to headline another SA pack. Its bright, a bird, easily recognizable and frontier did the wisent which is very similar to an in game animal (bison) same could apply for the flamingo.

Its very heavy on the clone side for me with two that are almost identical to existing species

But still frontier loves to do very close clones as improvements to base game animals. Wouldn’t be surprised if these two slipped through.

True but those always do offer something different like a new continent or biome. And while the flamingo technically does its literally just a change in colorsaturation, i mean cmon.

. American Flamingo is one of the very few birds i would be disappointed to get in a DLC and that means alot coming from me
I could see them doing American Flamingo but I doubt it would be on the cover of the pack

I know it'll never happen, but a small part of me hopes if we make it to the next anniversary they'll drop 3-5 simple "reskin" clones just to cover these semi-highly-requested species. EBB, American flamingo, Sumatran tiger, Masai giraffe, and...Grevy's zebra? Green peafowl?
The roseate spoonbill is obviously better than the American flamingo. However, people are being somewhat optimistic with various American animal packs containing multiple monkeys and new rigs. So the American flamingo becomes a logical choice.
Plus in an Americas pack of any description both give the Caribbean something!
