Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

yeah but these are all blurring the line between taiga and alpine under most definitions of taiga it is specifically referring to the northern hemisphere deciduous forests which remain cold all year and a predominately made of conifers due to the cold oceania doesnt really have anything similar that isnt just alpine instead. Also I didnt think the platypus or emu were considered alpine.
Yes, but Frontier classes alpine/subalpine under taiga given it doesn’t have a separate montane/alpine biome classification. Therefore these animals would qualify for being taiga species.

Yeah as I said the emu is more marginal (range up into subalpine forests) but platypus live more than 1600 metres above sea level in the Australian Alps and Tasmanian Highlands.

Chiming in with my latest pack prediction! It's still only December and I'm as hyped as ever at the thought of Latin American animals. Still thinking we'll get a Latin America Animal Pack in June and a scenery pack in the spring, but a Central America Pack is a fun concept that seems likely!

Central America Pack:
1. Geoffrey's Spider Monkey
2. Ocelot
3. Caribbean Flamingo/Roseate Spoonbill
4. White-Nosed Coatimundi
5. Hoffman's Two-Toed Sloth (WE)/Plumed Basilisk (E)

6. Cuban Crocodile
7. Kinkajou
8. Bush Dog

If they focused on just a Central American pack, a Scenery pack would be enough. They'd just need to revisit South America in another pack.

I think we might get some different DLC concepts this year, especially if it's the final year.

For instance, we might get a Primate pack, with 7 + 5 dedicated primate species.
Example:
Spider monkey species
Howler monkey species
Lion tailed macaque
Langur species
Golden snub nosed monkey
Debrazzas monkey
Hamadryas baboon
  • Emperor tamarin
  • White footed tamarin
  • Golden lion tamarin
  • Common marmoset
  • Gouldi's marmoset

I have no interest in any more scenery packs. UNLESS that scenery pack involves 200+ new FOLIAGE pieces...!!!
We could call it... a 'Green Scenery Pack' instead of a regular Scenery Pack. Or maybe just simply 'Foliage pack'.
It could be something like 'Forest Foliage pack'. With 4+1 forest dwelling animals + 200+ new foliage pieces.
Example species:
Tree kangaroo species
Coati species
Ocelot
Spectacled bear
+ 5 walkthrough parrot species.

How does everyone else feel about a Foliage Scenery pack?

What do you think about the idea of creating DLC with carnivores, for example:
1.American Black Bear
2.Honey Badger
3.Ocelot
4.Short-Beaked Echidna
5.Walrus
6.Racoon dog
7.Pelican
8.Lori (WE)
At the same time, leave also good animals for other DLCs: Pallas cat and Giant salamander for Mountains; tamandua and Сoati for Latin America; Secretary Bird and Serval for Africa

I have said this before and I will say it again an all primate pack will flop hard because it is way too niche not that many people want that many monkeys

foliage pack is a good idea though

Also am I the only one shocked that we only got one cat this year? And it wasn’t even a good one (imo)
The packs didn’t really lend themselves to cats, I think. Tropical could’ve had ocelot (or something like fishing/rusty spotted/margay) but the fossa is quite a cat-like feliform so it took that spot. Oceania is (native) catless. It is mostly just the Pallas’s cat that could’ve made it from likely/popular options.

A "Plant pack" 100% calls for Orchid Mantis as the Exhibit animal 😍

And a veggie food stall!

There are so many plants - specifically flowers - that I’d love to see!

As a free update they could make it so that for some existing trees to also come in a blooming and a fruit bearing option 🤩 maybe even fruit trees as enrichment?

I actually liked that we only got one cat in the year, allows other animal groups to actually have a chance at appearing ingame. Hoping for the pallas cat as next years cat though.
Pallas cat is cool but the only cat I’m still waiting for is serval. I'm basically indifferent to the rest of the cat species.
No disrespect though 🙂

Since holiday season is nearly here I just wanted to take a break and thank each and every one of you for being such an active part of the community and making it so much alive.

We might not have the same opinions and we might have different species that we like the most but in the end I think we all want the game to last as long as possible.

I wish the game the longest lifespan ever and to all of you the species you desire the most to appear in the game as soon as possible.

Happy holidays!

you act like this year was diverse which it wasnt they just replaced all the cat and canid slots with ungulates.
