Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

By the way:
I listened to the Interview over the weekend. I'm a bit puzzled as to why she says "you'll be happy with us" - why does she say something like that?
We obviously weren't happy last year, why is she using a statement like that, she could have just left it at what he said "that they aren't finished with the PDLCs for the PC yet"
I've thought about it a lot, either it was a bit rash to say something like that, or they're planning something that would make us "happy". But what is the definition of "you will be happy with us" and what should we be happy about?
I still don't know what to make of it, but I don't want to read too much into it either.
But still I keep thinking "man, damn, WHAT is supposed to make us happy! Tell me!" 😭
PR hype spin. They’re not going to say we’re going to be disappointed with what’s coming.

Mmm, I was happy last year. Of course it could have been better, but we got 4 good packs, nice updates and many higlhy requested things (sloth, gibbon, porcupine, dromedary, devil, swan, wolverine, gift shops, brachiation, viewing domes, Malayan tapir remodel, null paths, several colourmorphs, temperate Oceania, another anniversary animal...). With every pack since the launch of the game there's has always being a disappointment about something especific, but I would say overall the community was happy last year. Then people are now panicking about the game ending soon and not having received some things they want, so they are saying that last year packs were bad, but I strongly disagree. I am very happy with Frontier team and the game, and I hope "I'll be happy with them" this year too.
You misunderstand me. Every animal that we got is great in its own way. The quality is just fantastic, I show each animal to my best friend and she always can't believe it's a game. I once posted a picture on an animal forum (of the OC Zoo with the penguin beach) and someone actually asked me "Where is that?" - didn't realize this was a game. That's not what it's about when I say "we, or rather I, wasn't happy" I was missing that certain something throughout the entire DLC year. In terms of gameplay, nothing has changed, you're still building almost the same thing. The next logical step would be new dimensions (fullaquatic, flying, ...) in which to build or new management features (star-system for challange mode, ...). I really missed that. Apart from that, the selection of animals for the packs could be improved.

IF we can't have a new cat or dog then I hope for no tegu either! I really hope this tegu talk isn't going anywhere... UNLESS, instead of replacing the ocelot with tegu Frontier replaces the Andean Bear with tegu. I mean you want to talk an overrepresented group of animals... Bears! I think there are like only two species left and they are NOT a big family. I don't get why the Spectacled bear is so wanted in game to be honest.
And no I wasn't too happy with last year but that is because I will admit the grasslands pack spoiled me. Even the Twilight pack before (although I dislike the spooky theme!). I was so grateful for the Red Fox!
Objectively, if its possible to be objective I think last year was pretty good. Its just not what I wanted aside from Sloth Bear, second bat, sand cat...
I chose the bear because it should be relatively easy to make and it is SA's only bear species. While SA already has 2 cats. We can argue about the bushdog/tegu/turtle, but the other 6 animals are simply more "valuable" in terms of gameplay, at least for me.

True.
But tell that to my brain, which is caught in a “what if” spiral.

Frontier in the livestream: I’m just gonna cut to the chase y’all are gonna hate this next one. We got a small staff and had absolutely nothing planned, I hope you like more of the same because you are getting that at a higher price.
:ROFLMAO:

I'd definitely love to see a habitat lizard in the Latin/South America Animal Pack, given we currently lack one from anywhere in the New World (they don't take precedence over birds ofc, but it's still a niche left open). The previously mentioned tegus are a great option for an oddball pick, being easy to make whilst also unique as the first non-varanid habitat lizards in the game. Plus, look at this dubious little creature:

A slept-on lizard addition for a Latin America Animal Pack though is the rhinoceros iguana, given the Caribbean also falls under the Latin American umbrella. While the iguanas we currently have are confined to the exhibit boxes, and likely to stay that way, this is possibly because both the green iguana and Lesser Antillean iguana are highly arboreal and the climbing system we currently have doesn't accommodate sprawled gaits well. The rhinoceros iguana is ground-dwelling, therefore negating this issue, and they can be kept in large outdoor enclosures in warmer climate zoos to boot (the pictures below being taken by me at my local zoo).

Given they would be the first habitat lizards from the New World, the first non-monitor habitat lizards, and the first largely herbivorous habitat lizards all in one, they're pretty easily one of the coolest possible reptile additions.

or: We heard you wanted more North African ungulates and caimans, and less Primates and birds, so we are doing our best to meet those goals!

H
NA animal pack did have oddballs though, Arctic fox and prairie dog, it was just that they choose good oddballs, compared to some recent ones..
None of those two were oddballs, I still remember everyone crying that the arctic pack had the arctic wolf instead of the arctic fox. And prairie dogs are basically the meerkats of North America, nowhere close to being an oddball.

or even better: we heard your pleas! The community wanted more SA animals, so in the next pack we are adding the vicuña, the brazilian tapir, the white tailed deer (yes, whitetails are also south american animals!) and the yacare caiman to the game! How exciting!

Frontier: zebra update? you'll be happy with us! Coming in our newest pack, Grevy's Zebra is all you could ever imagine only for 9.99$! We are also planning to fix small bug regarding Plain's Zebra, where its left leg is slower compared to right one! 🦓

You might be joking, but an update moving the zebra from the generic ungulate to the equid rig would be a nice free update.

Id appreciate that alot

About the Marine Iguana, what is the size of it? Are they quite big? If so, then how many in 1 habitat?
About the size of green iguanas, so like up to 1,3 meters. Hard to tell how many should be in one habitat since they are not in captivity. But since they seem to not mind others in their proximity in the wild id guess small groups should do fine, just keep it to one male

Has anyone ever tried keeping Marine Iguanas in captivity?
