There is something that has been bugging me about the console edition, and that is the 5th anniversary. Like it's clear that if their roadmap is to release content until march 2025 there is gonna be a 5th anniversary celebration right? But at the same time they said that console edition wouldnt get the peccary and gift shop until later... What do you guys think? Would that be because they are gonna reuse them for the 5th anniversary or simply aren't adding them yet because of technical difficulties? I personally believe that both things are separate and we are getting another animal in the 5th anniversary, my bet is on the bear, they finished the pigs last year, so this year might be the turn for the bears? Only spectacled and ABB missing, so my bet is on one of those.

Because they stated it? They plan to release the existing dlcs gradually on console until march 2025. As explained in the season pass description.
I think its because its new stuff and they didnt get around to converting it to console yet. With the Eurasia pack for example they still have some time if they release the DLCs for console over the coming year.
I guess a bear is certainly possible, but its kinda boring to me. Personally i have the little theory that they use the anniversary animals to fill some obvious hole in the basegame (and the game overall by extention). Like the base game has no real european animals and no classic deer, so they added the red deer. The basegame also has barely any SA animals and only a few NA ones, so the peccary was a great option to fill those areas. Obviously the lemur doesnt fit at all but oh well
So the ideal case imo would be getting some kind of SA monkey like the squirrel or a habitat bird, maybe the magpie goose since the basegame only has the croc for oceania?
I don't know about the reason for the peccary, but the gift shops are still broken in pc, so I imagine they want to fix them first before porting a broken a feature.
Well yes, but not new content… why would you necessarily expect another anniversary gift?
Because we will reach the anniversary date while the game is still being supported on consoles? Or do you expect them to ignore it's the anniversary for the game and do nothing even though the console version is ongoing.

I don’t see any reason to think they’d add anything if they’ve stopped developing new content. If they did release new free content for the anniversary (big if) then I’d just expect it to be released for both pc and console.

I mean it could still go either way, I'm not saying it will definitely be this or that. But I wouldn't be surprised nor disappointed that after one last DLC planet zoo doesn't receive anything new regardless of lifetime of its Console cousin
Sure they will not ignore the anniversary, they still post stuff about Planet Coaster's anniversary.
But if new content is no longer being developed for Planet Zoo when the anniversary arrives, then obviously the development team (or at least the part of the team that creates new assets) will be moved to other projects and they obviously wouldn't be releasing something new.

We didn't have to get free anniversary animals, could just be like free dlc codes or temporary balloons in-game to celebrate for all these years instead. If development is still active by the anniversary this year then great, if not then I wouldn't get upset by it.
I can see it from both sides, I really want them to release something for the 5th anniversary cause it’s well the 5th anniversary, but if the spring DLC is the last one, there won’t be much if any of the team left by then, so I can completely understand if they don’t release anything for the event.
They might have some unfinished half baked animals or some easy clon like ABB, Nile croc or rhea.
Wait they mentioned peccary and gift shops wont be in the console version? So all updates pre eurasia will be avalible?

I'm not anticipating any anniversary content from here on out, unfortunately. There is that off-handed chance that the reason Planet Zoo folks will be "happy with them" or whatever they said is because they still have a couple more DLC left but... That feels like it has such a small, outside chance at happening given where things sit at the company.

I don't want this to be the reality. I'd love for them to continue and round out PZ with another year of DLC and updates before moving on. Five is a nice round number and, honestly, thinking about the animal roster? Another four DLC could really round out this roster nicely with the right themes. But I just don't think it's happening.
