No real worst case scenario. Except maybe another Oceania focused pack. That would really have no use for me.
Only worst case scenario is we end the game with no domestics. That would be the real stab in the side for me.

Only worst case scenario is we end the game with no domestics. That would be the real stab in the side for me.
Least appealing would be an all domestics pack. Even if duck and rabbits are in it.
African Safari pack. Not a bad idea but not for one last pack. The roster however:
Mountain Zebra
Somali Ostrich
Mountain Gorilla
African Leopard
Bontebok
Cape Porcupine
African Bush Elephant
Black Mamba: exhibit
Bontebok and black mamba are actually good picks, the others? Absolutely not.
All mammals for me, especially if it’s low on monkeys.

- Ungulate 1
- Ungulate/ Carnivora
- Ungulate 2
- WTE: two toed sloth
This is almost precisely the opposite of my opinion - If there wasn’t a desperate need to bring SA up to scratch (especially with monkeys) and birds in general an Oceania pack would be my first choice for a region -specific pack - (Oceania remains proportionately less well represented than Europe, NA, Africa and Asia IMO)…another Oceania pack could be a great one:.. limiting myself to 7+1

- Tree kangaroo (any)
- Echidna
- Yellow footed rock wallaby
- Numbat
- Greater bilby
- Australian pelican
- Lyre bird
- Tuatara
Worst case is anything that has no birds in it
Cool pack that i would buy in a heartbeat. But i think Oceania kinda suffers from the fact that it has ALOT of very unique animals, so coming up with clonish animals that would be the bulk of the pack is rather hard.
Which is probably the reason why oceania got relatively little animals over the years and both packs focused on it were scenery packs

Absolute worst case scenario is probably another pack with no birds, or another pack focused on Europe - the only region which does nearly nothing for me - with just mammals.
Realistically, if things don’t change and we get yet another animal pack full of almost nothing but ungulates and carnivorans I’ll be pretty bummed. Scenery packs at least always have something I can use (it’s literally the only reason I ever use Europe and to a lesser extent Twilight barring the wombat/bats), but another pack full of animals that don’t address the glaring issues with the roster even just a little bit - at the end of the game’s life no less - would feel more than a little disheartening.
Not saying that’d actually happen though lol, hopefully we’ll get at least one monkey and one bird (please).

After frontier saying we will be happy with the future dlc, to then be greeted with one bird and a monkey would be disappointing on so many levels.

It's actually crazy how many ungulates we got last year compared to everything else:
Carnivorans - 4 (Fossa, Sand Cat, Wolverine, Sloth Bear)
Ungulates - 11 (Red River Hog, Somali Wild Ass, Addax, Dama Gazelle, Black Rhino, Dromedary Camel, Collared Peccary, Wild Boar, Saiga, Wisent, Takin)
Primates - 1 (Lar Gibbon)
Other Mammals - 3 (Crested Porcupine, Quokka, Tasmanian Devil)
Birds - 3 (Kiwi, Little Blue Penguin, Mute Swan)
Reptiles - 1 (Asian Water Monitor)
Almost 50% of the habitat animals we got in 2023 were ungulates. I love ungulates but I must admit it was a little bit overkill. I've said it before but (not counting the can of worms that is domestics) the only two necessary ungulates left are the blackbuck and muntjac... Both very common and iconic zoo animals that are unique and would greatly boost their respective regions.

I mean it’s the worst case scenario. A bunch of clone animals representing the most well represented continent in the game. I’m not opposed to another Africa pack, but not if it’s the only one left and not any kind unique animal.

I mean with another 1-2 years of support id say sure why not. Walrus and ox are pretty highly requested, hare would bring alot of value in terms of options for modding and a "normal" deer is NAs last missing mammal niche.
But to be fair i think the inclusion of the wolverine in eurasian lowered the chance of us getting a arctic/tundra pack pretty substancially
