99. Wolverine
99. Wolverine
After everyone realised the wolverine didn't mean having a habitat full of multiple Hugh Jackman's, no one cared
Carnivorans: South American CoatiLet's see where people are right now regarding certain groups. Out of these "core zoo animal" groups which is your most wanted habitat species?
Carnivorans - South American Coati
Ungulates - Reeves' Muntjac (I think this and the blackbuck are the last two that are truly essential)
Primates - Any Callitrichid (Tamarin, Marmoset, etc)
Other Mammals - Rock Hyrax
Birds - Too many, I think right now I would say Pelican, Rhea, Stork, or Guineafowl, all my most wanteds are birds at this point.
Reptiles - African Spurred Tortoise
Honestly i'm not surprised. I personally never cared much about the wolverine. And i haven't seen much demand for it outside the forums.
Oh absolutely, I'm just poking fun, but realistically I believe many don't know much about the animal, save for name, let alone ask for itI haven't seen much demand for it outside the forums.
I mean the orang utan being simutaniously the highest ranked and least accurate looking primate really shows that apperently most people dont care about the modelI'm actually surprised any Eurasia animals actually made it to the top 100 (go swan gooo) considering that proportionally less people own the Eurasia pack. In any case the popularity of pet-like animals is really unsurprising, also the capybara is pretty obvious given its immense popularity. What surprised me is the okapi honestly, but given how the lion is there too I guess people don't really mind the models that much huh. Also the giant otter too, I love them, but as animals they are kinda ugly lol it's a nice surprise people like 'em despite their ugliness![]()
What a disappointment that would be, yeah let's give Africa the much needed animals it really really needs but a continent begging for literally anything is forgotten about again.like the baboon and secretary bird are the last and only representatives of their group?
Thats would be a punch in the guts. The secretary and especially the baboon are something i really want, but those two being the only monkey and bird we get before the end? Oof, thats a tough one to swallow. So what do you think something like the baboon and secretary bird are the last and only representatives of their group? Like the last dlc has 1 monkey and 1 bird? I think with how the meta wishlist is it might be likely.
Or Frontier is gonna surprise us with something out of left field? Maybe the final dlc will be bigger than we think and will tie into the console? Of course I have no basis to think that, especially considering Frontier is pretty quite about developments until announcement.
The fact that none of the caprines made it into the list and that the only swine to make the list was the red river hog not the warthog, this is honestly pretty much what I expected to see.Discussion time! Most people dont care about primates unless they are monkeys they want one or 2 but thats it its why im strongly against the idea of an all primate pack since I doubt it will do well. This is unironically a good indicator of why we received so many carnivores while primates were neglected: from the 42 carnivores that the game has, 37 are on this list, while from the 13 primates, half are absent.
The first carnivore also appears a lot early than the first primate ( 2# vs 35#) with the top 10 consisting in majority by carnivores (6/10), while primates are struggling in popularity against stuff like aardvarks and sand cat.
expect it isnt the 3 foxes barely affected each other the arctic and red fox are 1 number apart the bengal and siberian tiger are close together as well even if it does split the fans since I doubt anyone put both tigers they are still wildly popular.I mean the same effects all big cats and large dogs
Well i guess it depends how you look at it. Because for me the siberian, amur leopard, snow leopard and lynx all compete for the niche of asian cold climate cat for example, so they clash in usage. Admittedly its more a case of which one do i want to use in this zoo than which one should have a spot on the games rosterMost people dont care about primates unless they are monkeys they want one or 2 but thats it its why im strongly against the idea of an all primate pack since I doubt it will do well.

I feel like I'm the only one who would actually like this lol. Of course I wish we get more than 1 bird or primate in the final pack but if we dont and its just Secretary and Baboon I'm not complaining at all. Baboon has been my persuit for the past god knows how long and the Secretary bird is probably one of the most unique and differently behaving (powerful legs for hunting) birds out of a lot of the ones people have mentioned, so I will take it in with open arms. I dont care if Africa has enough, the ones its missing are very beautiful animals that would make amazing additions. So what do you guys think something like the baboon and secretary bird will be the last and only representatives of their group? Like the last dlc has 1 monkey and 1 bird?
I would not like this at all. Sadly, I do think it could happen, especially if the next pack is the last and is an animal+scenery pack or 12 animal pack. But I would still not like that at all. If we get only one more monkey, it should absolutely be a South American species, IMO. I wouldn't like the Secretary Bird to be the only bird left they add, but I can agree that if there were only one bird left to be added it should be the Secretary Bird. Ideally we get 2 more primates (3 would be great) and at least 2 more birds. So what do you guys think something like the baboon and secretary bird will be the last and only representatives of their group? Like the last dlc has 1 monkey and 1 bird? I think with how the meta wishlist is it might be likely.
Or is Frontier gonna surprise us with something out of left field? Maybe the final dlc will be bigger than we think and will tie into the console? Of course I have no basis to think that, especially considering Frontier is pretty quiet about developments until announcement.
Man i never was so anxious about an upcoming DLC like this time.
Well we can't "know" that it will be underwhelming, since that's pretty subjective.Honestly I don't expect them to announce the DLC until a month later of the console release, like they did with the Arctic Pack back then. Like right now they are just gonna focus on promoting the console version.
As much as you can speculate we all know the last DLC is gonna be underwhelming just like the rest of 2023 packs were.
