The african forest elephant actually deserve a prize for being the least desirable animal by the pz community, like, there's no other animal that have literally nothing going for it.

Nah, they will go with another subspecies of Asian Elephant
There are only a couple that i actively want like 1 or 2 domestics ideally the dwarf goat and shetland pony or a pig, either blackbuck or nilgai and maybe some small one like a muntjac and thats kinda it.
I got a few that i wouldnt really mind but would also kinda prefer to be something different like the generuk, most caprines and stuff like that.
Wait let me check which one i have on my 50 animals wishlist for the 2024 meta.
Edit: Yeah its just the india duo, muntjac, dwarf goat, dik dik and musk ox

Yeah though I think the Sumatran elephant would be a little more realistic.
But I also still would like to have the Sumatran and Javan rhinoceros. But these are far from realistic.
Domestic animals would probably be as big disappointment for me as another ungulate heavy pack for you
I just don’t feel any need for them in a zoo game. But I understand why people want them.
For me game still have a lot of potential for the future packs but and the same time feels very complete at the stage as it is right now.
If two of my favorite animals would find their way into the game I would be content.
Anything above that would be a bonus.

Elephants are my favorite animals but we really don't need a third to take up a slot in a pack. We got the two most zoo-relevant ones in the base game and I'm perfectly fine using the Indian elephant as a substitute for other subspecies/zoomix elephants. As much as I love African forest elephants, they're only found in a tiny handful of zoos and are all (AFAIK, though I think I heard something about an attempt recently, could be wrong) non-breeding, so will likely disappear from zoos outside of rescues in their native range. There are loads of species more deserving of a slot and I'm completely fine using mods for them. I'd love to get out to see them irl someday (though their enclosures all seem rather dingy and only one of the countries they're kept in - Japan - is even remotely safe for someone like me lol)
Here’s my final prediction:
1. Hybrid animal/scenery pack
2. Either Latin America,Americas, or New World (including Oceania) themed
3. At least one monkey (preferably Black Howler Monkey since it’s the most requested monkey)
4. At least one bird (likely the Greater Rhea to round off the ratites)
5. Spectacled Bear/Ocelot

I would be genuinely irritated, because there's a lot of potential for JWE 2. JWE 3 would be a stupid move, honestly. The only people begging for JWE 3 are content creators who are bored of JWE 2, namely Swerve
You see 3rd elephant and ask "Why?" Others see 3rd elephant and ask "Why not?"
Eastern wolf, maybe? Trying to think of species (not subspecies) that have less going for them and yeah, it's hard. Or maybe something like cape porcupine. At least the forest elephant would be slightly more visually distinct.

The eastern wolf could actually add a good model for the grey wolf and the cape porcupine is fairly common in captivity.
They are both very lame in the pz context? Yes.
They are way better than the forest elephant? Absolutelly.
