Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Ok, so... Taking for granted the fossa and the new Balinese scenery and the rafflesia, we get a regular scenery DLC with only 3 more slots for habitat species. If the RRH hint is true, only 2 places remains, and the common topic must be tropical rainforests. In those 2 slots there must be, at least:
  • 1 Indonesian animal, so that the new scenery and foliage makes sense... An animal from Bali itself would be ideal, but there aren't many.
  • 1 Arboreal animal, because jungles are full of trees, and it would be strange not having any monkey and/or sloth.
  • 1 South American animal, as previous DLCs based on biomes (wetlands, grasslands) included representatives from every continent, and South America has the world's biggest rainforest.

That means the DLC must be something like:
  • Fossa
  • Red river hog
  • Javan langur, crab-eating macaque, or banteng from Bali; or other non-Balinese species from Indonesia
  • Sloth or New World monkey (mandatory if no Indonesian monkey); or ocelot, or peccary ?
  • EX: King cobra or gecko from Bali; or chameleon from Madagascar

Now, I find something strange... I know some people don't give much importance to the headliner species, but I've just realised that every headliner species until now was easily recognizable for everyone: bears, big cats, a koala, an armadillo, a penguin...

But if it's true that the species revealed in the livestream is always the headliner, we are having the least know headliner species, most people wouldn't even know how to name it: Is it a long weird cat? Is it an otter that lives in the trees?
I find this interesting... Maybe there is a different headliner species?

I'm thinking an 'Exploration Pack' theme because that is what Tim and Lydia were doing and being similar to the Conservation Pack which will allow islands, woodlands and rainforest etc to be revisited again in dedicated animal packs. The animals of this pack are probably less documented (needing to be researched) and considered elusive - like the fossa.
That's also what I think. Exploration pack or Jungle pack. But of course Islands or Rainforest are still possible too. The good thing is I don't really care because I would love all of those options.

I hope for an animal pack cause of the huge variety of rainforest animals and the lack of South American fauna in PZ, a Scenery Pack with only 5 animals is a wasted opportunity :(

I thought of the crab-eating macaque as well as a representative Balinese animal. They might be too similar to the Japanese macaque already in-game though.

Fwiw, Bali has a very interesting park called the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. It's located in the central highlands and is home to 1,000+ monkeys spread across a beautiful tropical forest with a few Balinese temples. According to authorities, the monkeys have organized themselves into 10 clans and sometimes squabble over territory. It's really worth visiting, but kind of terrifying at the same time when you get caught in between two potentially rival clans!

I've got my fingers crossed for a new monkey (preferably something common like a squirrel monkey or a tamarin/marmoset as they're zoo staples), a macaw walkthrough exhibit or, failing that, a new exhibit reptile like a chameleon or a python (reticulated or Burmese). If I get those, I'll be a very happy weasel indeed.

You who have been around for awhile: What to expect from the next annoncement? Do they normally just give out the name of the Pack and reveal one or two animals or is it usually a big reveal with a trailer, all animals revealed and other information?
