Looks like Grassland is pack with least amount of players first sunday after release. Around 1k less than conservation.
So this year DLC ranking based on player activity would be:
Wetlands (by far) > Twilight > Conservation > Grasslands.

Not to disrespect island fauna, but a tropical or desert biome pack would objectively offer more potential diversity by the sheer abundance and bioduversity of these biomes.
Islands are not a biome; they are all different, with different biomes and different forms of life adapted to those biomes. You want tropical animals, pick a tropical island animal; you want Tundra animals, pick a tundra island animal; etc. It's options for basically any biome versus options tied to one specific biome.

I mean i get what dragontiger means, but im honest islands can easily go both ways. There are so many island cultures and plants to draw from, they could really get creative with a scenery pack, but at the same time islands have a much more diverse selection of animals in biomes then other biome packs, as its really not a biome but a geographic feature.
A tropical pack would and should allways have only tropical animals, but an island pack would most likly offer tropical animals like the hawaian goose, treekangaroo, fossa and indonesian animals, temperate animals like the tassie devil and kiwi, while it also could offer arctic animals with the muskox and walrus, mountain animals like the serrow or even mostly aquatic animals like literally any seal or sea bird

Kinda depends if that many have bought the dlc or waiting for the Christmas sale which judging by Reddit questions is a lot of people (I know this is comparing active players but Christmas sales always bring more players). Still the monthly steam statistics continues to grow where planet zoo is among the strongest frontier games

This, basically... islands are everywhere. They come in all kinds from tropical paradises to arctic wasteland, and the animals living on them are just as varied and diverse... to make an island pack a scenery pack would be an absolute waste of potential... and for what? Another round of theme park scenery only the most serious builder would even consider using? If they really needed more build stuff, there are better options to choose from.

You don't get what I mean. Go the met wishlist, count all the animals that could fit an island pack, and all the animals that could fit a tropical pack. See which number is bigger.

Considering it's the sunday with the most dramatic world cup final in history I'd say it makes sense.

Most people are probably busy celebrating (sorry France).
