Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Im not asking for oddballs or do i have something against the animals (besides the kiwi) i just dont want them all together in a scenery pack.
I also consider the treekangaroo essential and eventhough im personally quite indifferent to the tassi devil i do understand why it should be in the game, but that doesnt change how inflexible the animals are and how little actual unique gameplay they bring to the table.
Imo the best animals for the game are those with the widest use, but for an example lets take the black swan, imo a 10/10 addition.
Things that the black swan offer are not limited to but include:
  • first waterfowl to the game
  • australian representation
  • fits well in wetland themed areas with platypus and saltwater crocodiles
  • fits just as well on just any random pond
  • walkthrough
  • possibility of mixed enclosures (imagine platypus black swan mix)
  • european park bird also usefull when not building a zoo cough cough sallands adventure zoo cough cough
  • implied wild animal
  • common all around the world

And most importantly you could throw this animal in any kind of zoo and it would work great, be it low or high budget, no matter what continent or not even a zoo.

Now the tassie:
  • first marsupial predator
  • australia/tasmania themed areas
  • australian zoos
  • nocturnal houses

And that while being a small carnivore something we got dozens of gameplay wise and is quite rare.

Im not against the tassie devil, like i said im quite neutral with it but i think that underlines my point quite well
Ohhhhh! I thought just didn't want all those animals together in an animal pack. Yeah, I totally understand that you wouldn't want all those in a scenery pack cause I'm kind of there with you. I'm sorry!

I’m of the same mindset.
It would be a DREAM to get an Islands ANIMAL pack with the tassie, tree kangaroo, fossa and kiwi as well as maybe a scarlet ibis (caribbean), muskox (greenland), southern rockhopper penguin (falklands) and lorikeets (southeast asia). That would be an absolute WIN!
But to get an Islands SCENERY pack with just the four would be, for me, awful. It’d just be so predictable and not leave me with many usable animals.
So whilst I’m all for getting those four animals this spring, I hope it’s not JUST those four animals we get this spring.

Really weird we dont have an update with outsource_lqa in steamdb, and we are one month less to the dlc release
it doesn't mean anything... it should update next week if the date is really the 4th April. Lately it's been a week difference from update to outsource_lqa to the news. So it should update next week (I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK AND WEEK AFTER! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

I mean there is kind off a trend with the miscellaneous DLCs, basicly those that arent geographic or biome themed to which id also count an islands pack, to be dominated by one region/continent.

Aquatic has 2,5/4 habitat animals from SA
Conservation has 3/4 from Asia
Twilight has 3/4 from NA

So a Islands Pack with 3/4 animals from oceania is certainly not unlikely

Out of all primates to wish for in rainforest pack community chosen one not found in rainforests at all.
Its entire rainforest distribution is limited to small Alto Parana rainforest patch and occurence borders. Majority of its range is made up by open woodland habitats like cerradao, pantanal and beni savanna.
But wouldn't those fall under rainforest and grassland in the game? I don't think "temperate" is the most accurate way to describe the habitat they live in.

Yeah I was thinking that aswell earlier, if we don't see an update within a week I would seriously doubt a early April release

Or this years plans changed after the F1 release not enough for frontier
Before every DLC the same. I am pretty sure we get an Easter DLC If Support goes in and this was confirmed. Update and DLC announcement could be in the last week of March if the release will be on the 4th of April. I doubt a Formula 1 Game has influence on Planet Zoo. And as far as I have seen but I am Not completely sure there were already first Steam Updates (Not the important File)

I hope its next week, Jurassic World Evolution 2 outsource_lqa was updated 17 days ago. Maybe his dlc will release sooner than PZ, just like the past year

I mean it just have to be close enough. We got Caracal and Hyena is grassland pack.

Add to that - arctic had 4/4 species from north america, and only 1.5 from eurasia

Anecdotal but I saw them in a rainforest in Bolivia (also in the Pantanal but that isn't proper rainforest). And the internet (and distribution map) say they live across several biomes including rainforests.

Guys, these are basically repositories where they push their work on. It's all it is. You can use this as an indication that something is coming but that's really all you can do with it. There's no such thing as "they should update it next week if the date is really the 4th of April". There really isn't, don't read so much into it 😅

I can 100% guarantee to you here that the devs who are reading this are probably laughing because you're trying to read something in that. I know that I would if people would look at how often our branches get updated 😂
Who knows at this point, all we know is dlcs through the year not the timetable

At the end of the day people can do with this info what they will, but this seems to be as clear of a pattern as we can get, pretty much as clear as the 4 DLCs per year pattern. (Yes yes, first year we got three but that was around the COVID times).

I'm putting a hell of a lot more faith into the fact that each Spring DLC so far has been released in the week of Easter than whether or not a branch of a repository got updated :p

i should always leave the details to you iben :ROFLMAO: I always things like these wrong

Konig, i have to agree that having those 4 particular animals in a scenery pack would be a little boring. However in an animal pack I'm sure it'd be a lot better.

In my case, my nightmare pack would be if we get an islands, tropical, or treetops pack and no monkey.

I need more New World monkeys, y'all

What island monkeys would be worth including?
