Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Yeah. I'm expecting other type of animals before domestics. If it is a domestics pack i guess i much prefer a rabbit and a duck than a cow and a goat. At least the rabbit is not similar to anything we have in the game already.
i just dont want them at all. too many unique, important wild species left to put in

With the timing it would be perfect for a scenery easter-inspired pack - like Twilight was somewhat Halloween-ish !! Farm animals and farm scenery and flowers! Finally giving us hay bales :ROFLMAO:
That's exactly what I'm expecting, even tought still hoping for something else (and well, if we get an wild rabbit and some kind of waterfowl it could actually be ok).

I doubt Frontier's aware of the Easter Bilby (especially since it's faded in recent years) but YES. YES, YES, 1000x YES.
A bilby would boost my interest in an Easter pack enormously! They’re now one of my top 5 most wanted animals so I’ll take any chance (however small) they have to be added.

I have recently build great petting zoo and just slowed down animal aging.
I used female ibex, female Babirusa, female peafowl, dall sheep, llama, fallow deer along with Przewalski horse fowls and water buffalo calfs. Used barns from aquatic pack and backstage props from conservation pack. It all looked really complete and work very well.

Do we really need anything more?
Why ask for something that is already there….

It was the whole package, looked super cute and served it’s purpose greatly.

I learned it all from Rudi Rennkamel he has done the farm tutorials ages ago with Bobs pet farm series. Check it out:

Need to disagree, domestic animals have always been an integral part of zoos and deserve the full treatment. I can't move past pretending a Peahen is a Chicken personally.

I personally have absolutely no problem with that. Female ibex looks just like regular goat, calfs and fowls don’t even need pretending and I do use female peafowls as a turkeys all the time.
For me petting zoo pack would be waste of slots. I would more like to see wild species there.
But I respect anyone’s preferences and it was just an idea that for many people works just fine 😊

I’m very much against just working with what we’ve got. I can’t pretend a bengal tiger is a Sumatran tiger or that an ibex is a domesticated goat. I really need the real thing, so to speak.

And on the subject of domestics, I do think that they are an integral part of most zoos and would be a very successful pack for Frontier.

That would be the first pack that I won’t buy but I respect your opinion.
I am very much against real life petting zoos and just wanted to give an easy resolution for the people who who likes them and would like to build one right now in their game.

I think petting zoos and collections with domestics can be completely different things though.

I’m not in favour of children running wild and grabbing at traumatised goats and guinea pigs but many collections have rare breeds, local domestics and so on and can be really important for educating about sustainability, food production, cultural history and so on, often in the context of traditional local architecture.

This is something I have seen very well done in various places in Germany and Sweden for example.

Weird we are having a lot of twitter zoopedia quiz and no livestreams. Good thing is steamdb is having more updates in the depots.
It's too early to already have a live-stream if the release is on the 4th. If they go by the same patterns as before we're looking at a reveal in the week of the 20th of March.

Not a fan of the idea, but it's extremely realistic.
I wouldn't say it's extremely realistic. It's not impossible, given that they've clearly done season related DLCs in the past (Arctic, Twilight and Europe to an extant); but there's also been 5 Planet DLCs released the Tuesday before Easter where the theme had no correlation with Easter whatsoever. So like, the odds against an Easter themed pack are quite a lot bigger.

This comment isn't directed to anybody in particular, but I think some people forget that there are many ways to play the game. It's happened to me where I don't like something but somebody else does and I'm hoping they don't add it for whatever reason but they add it anyway.
Like the heavily specialized themes. I personally don't like them that much, like the most of the Twilight pieces and the North Africa pieces. However, there are players that do like them and use them, even if I would've never added them. Nowadays I just figure out how to adapt these specialized pieces for a build that I'd do...

I think domestics are falling under that biased POV. There are those, like me, who really want a dedicated pack to these types of animals. There are others who absolutely loathe them. Whether Frontier releases this type of pack or not, I think we can all agree that, while it's not everybody's choice, at least some players will be happy and, who knows, these animals may gain popularity like the llama did and/or players will adapt their builds/zoos for these animals

Not should but could 🤷🏽
Then pls also use the warthog as a replacement of the red river hog, as that is a much much closer and actual sensible swap in that warthogs wouldnt be out of of place in a red river hog habitat in a real zoo, unlike a babirusa or ibex in the petting zoo.
If that sounds unreasonable to you and you feel like arguing against that and in favor of the red river hog think about what you suggested again and how a petting zoo pack and domestics apparantly arnt needed in the game, afterall we got female babirusas, ibex and dall sheep that look like domestics if you squint enough

Didn't I use the exact same points last week to prove we need a domestic pack?
