Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Since we already have an African Suidae/Hog aka Warthog, would be weird to get a Red River Hog or Bushpig instead of the Visayan Warty Pig. ;)

This logic works both ways, and I say this as someone who wants the red river hog.
The difference is clear. One of the two species is one of the most requested species (at least one the Forum) and the other one is perhaps the 4th most popular pig(-)like species.

It's true we get influenced by US English, and I noticed that in English, names tend to diverge a lot from the greek/latin name, even more so in Dutch or German
Seems weird to me most of the times :
In French we tend to keep names closer to latin
Example : Blackbuck is "Antilope cervicapre" in French, nearly the same as the latin taxonomy (Antilope cervicapra)
Red River Pig/Hog (Potamochoerus porcus) is "Potamochère roux" which translates to Red River Pig.
Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) is "Phacochère" which means "Lentil Pig" due to the protrusions on their face.
Same goes for Tree Kangaroos, we call them "Dendrolague" from the greek name "Dendrolagos" = Tree Hare
English in general is a melting pot language that is really annoying because of its inconsistencies. Luckily, the different dialects in the US are that hard to understand (for me personally), probably because US English is relatively young. I wish it were closer to Latin; it would make taxonomy so much easier!

Believe it or not, but US English is somehow closer to original English than UK English (that's what I was told)

I think that it would have been announced by now if it was going to be announced today. Tomorrow is the most likely date then.
