Newcomer / Intro SRV - Help with throttle

I've come back to the game after a few months off!

A few months ago I had the SRV throttle settings the way I liked them - accelerate up to the increment I liked, and the SRV would chug along at that speed

NOW.... with the same settings, if I press what used to be the 'increment' key, the SRV accelerates to breakneck speed. Attempting to decelerate (ie what used to be the 'de-inrement' key now just brings the SRV slowly to a halt. (Very difficult to board with these settings!)

Has something changed over the last few months to cause this...?

It's drive assist. It's a toggle, so just toggle it to the one you like. From your description you want it on.

I think it's useful for keyboard drivers certainly, but I have proper throttle control and that does everything I need really, never turn it on myself.

Thanks all
No problem. When I first went to one of the Guardian sites, so I could unlock the FSD booster, I hadn't been playing the game for a couple of years and it was the first time driving a SRV again. I went around the site and the thing was just going bonkers, it was like the SRV was possessed as it would start and stop on it's own and was so hard to control. I searched the forums and soon learned about what drive assist was, I don't think it even existed when I was playing previously. As soon as I turned it off everything was back to normality.

Well, that SORT OF worked....
I turned DRIVE ASSIST off as a default, and the SRV no longer powers along at full speed, BUT....

I now have to hold down the forward key to keep it going; if I take my finger off, it rolls to a stop.

Here are my keybindings for the SRV THROTTLE

Any help would be MUCH appreciated 'cos it's really bugging me, as it used to work ok! (ie I used to tap the W key, and the speed would increase in increments and that speed would be maintained without any further input from me)

(yeah, I've been away a while, so I'm probably doing something dumb... :) )

Thanks in advance
JJ

I think I know what your problem is. At least its worth testing. You have the drive speed axis bound to a joystick. In that case, the joystick will take precedence over the keyboard and return throttle to zero. Try unbinding the drive speed axis.

When Drive Assist is ON - it should maintain the speed you've set.
When it's OFF - you'll need to keep pressing the accelerate button (not a problem with HOTAS, because analog throttle stick does that for you).

Turn it ON now
(maybe you had previous problems because of that drive speed axis binded to joystick)
