SRV is the worst

Seriously, is this some sort of punishment? 180s on the smallest rocks, gets hung up on everything, and the collection of mats is entirely ridiculous (target, drive over, back up, target again, drive over...repeat). No unstuck option, only way to get unstuck is to self destruct.

What did we do to deserve this?

Well...

The SRV is so "good" that it's better flown than driven over terrain ;)
That tells alot about its handling qualities on the ground...
I handles like a classic british experimental car design from the 1960's.

But in most situations, the SRV can be unstuck by using its thrusters.
Just remember Pitch and Bank while boosting it upwards control where it goes. This is the only directional control while its thrusters boost it airborne.
For as long as gravity isn't too high, it can be flown out of some canyons or otherwise very difficult places.
(this indeed takes skill though - and patience)

In some ditch, especially on a high-G Icy Planet though?... Well, a Skimmer or tracked Vehicle sure would be highly welcome.

Good stuff, thanks. My stuck was a graphical glitch. The port side thruster went through part of another ship piece on the ground. I was locked to it. My original point being about my frustration with lack of unstuck option or graphical collision avoidance on the thrusters.

Oh, the terrain glitches... Yeah, those can be extremely annoying.

If you encounter any, it's best to momentarily quit to menu and log-in again. This should solve those terrain glitches.
Should these glitches be widespread and occur frequently, I'd recommend to see if the Video Drivers are up-to-date and that the GPU isn't overclocked or anything (really funny stuff can happen if the GPU produces errors calculating the Terrain).
Trying to operate the SRV over such bugged Terrain can quickly turn into a "Driving nightmare".

If that doesn't help, playing with (i.e. reducing or increasing) the "GPU Terrain Work" slider might help.

You know what would fix the SRV? Drive assist should be downthrust instead of cruise control. Suddenly you have traction.

Its not the worst but we do need far more options for land based movement and more load outs. Even larger transporters and passenger vehicles are needed as well. The one size fits all limits options greatly.
