A big issue when trying to land on a planet to deploy a SRV is the mini game of find the blue zone so you can fully land and power down your ship.
I have spent too many hours to count, on this issue when in a groups.
A simple solution is the SRV airdrop and air recovery system, you do get the air recovery system in game at the moment from time to time where the ground is not 100% flat, the main ship will then hover and active the holographic grid to dock the srv. When you do that, the ship pulls the SRV up into the ship, before fading to black and transitioning to the main ship cockpit.
The srv upgrade would work as follows.
Player approaches planet and comes to a hover 2km above the targeted drop zone (x distance away from any settlements).
Player go to the deploy srv & fighter control and selects SRV Airdrop option.
Game fade to black transition into SRV
SRV unfolds and drops out the bottom of the ship as normal, with the players using the srv's thrusters to land on the ground.
The players ship will then automatically pitch up and fly to orbit ( Just like when a players stv is over 2km away from the ship.)
For the Air recovery system, it would use the recall ship mechanic currently in the fame, but if the ground is to rough to land, it would hover 1 - 2km up and pull the SRV up into the ship before fade to black transition into the ships cockpit.
Note:- the drop and recovery heights can be adjusted, but that is the idea.
It would solve a big in game issue where players in larger ship struggle to find s landing area.
