SRV spins and points to something interesting - Is it just me?

Let me explain. I'm travelling over a moon in my SRV, trying to find a third sample of an elusive bio (not bark mould, that's impossible). I've travelled for about 20 minutes without success. All of a sudden I clip a rock, the SRV goes into a spin. I slam on the brakes, the SRV comes to rest and there, right in front of me is that elusive bio. Almost as if the SRV is soying "Hey, idiot, its over there.". the first time it happened I thought "Fluke". Now it has happened three times this afternoon. So, is it just me, is it a built in feature or did I buy too much tin foil?

tin foil.

Having said that - the ship does that too! Often I'm flying over an area where something should be found - can't see it, so I land and when I step out to stretch my legs - BOOM! there it is - between the landing legs :D

I find things often do not get around to spawning until after you've already passed them by (...or even after landing and disembarking), when travelling so much as moderately fast... And the SRV spin-out looks to me to be hard-coded to always leave you facing back in the direction you came from, once finished - let's say the Scarab is bum-heavy, or something... :p

ED is definitely sluggish in placing spawnable items. The render distance is low, presumably one of their attempts to get 4.0 to be 'optimised'. Plants rendered at a distance look totally different colours and rocks often drop dow a foot or so as you pass them. The LOD value has been optimised so much that things pop up in your face.

Another one I had today - get bored trying to find bio and go shoot an Outcrop for mats. Notice bio right next to the Outcrop 🤦‍♀️

I also find some bio is worse at showing than others: in mountains Frutexa often show - and when I land I find Fungoidia was right next door but wasn't showing at all from the ship. Very mysterious :)

Oh, phew!
I thought that's happening only to me when i'm doing exobio, glad to see i'm not alone in this

I get that all the time, but instead of stretching my legs I rage quit only to log back on the next session and find myself parking in a forest.

My theory is some kind of asset loading lag. Maybe flying backwards works better.

It's all part of the fun, right?

I have also experienced late-loading of certain bios. I tend to go really slow over the surface anyway, so it's not usually a problem. Usually. :)

The very delayed pop/fade in can actually be a huge issue for Exobiology and will make you paranoid wondering if there are really no plants there or if they're hiding, invisiby, trying to get the jump on you.

I don't think this has been reported to FDev in a clear enough way that ties it to exobiology gameplay, but we're unlikely to get more engine/exobiology fixes when even the DSS biome map hasn't really been changed. Asking for more/better Exobiology tools instead would be a good bandaid.
