Reminds me of player built, owned and run bases in Hellion...except with Hellion back then, we had proper gameplay, salvaging, mining, zero G physics, Newtonian flight model, orbital mechanics, resource management...etc, etc :whistle:

This is the biggest lull I've seen in CIG-land for a while, to be fair, which seems to be burning most of the 'content creators'. It's not just the standard pre-Citcon aridity. The patches are sketchy and on a slower cadence, which only leaves dreamcrafting about future deliveries to fill the gaps. And even there CIG's roadmap and vid schedule is also relatively parched. Throw in the more noticeable community scepticism / sarcasm about the big pillar goals (Pyro / Server Meshing etc), driven in part by PES's clunky delivery and the other overt delays, and they can't really spend too much time in that pleasant land either.

And hell, even if sections of the community are still sparky about big pillar stuff, the streamers themselves have hit their own walls with it ;)


There's not much left to do but moan at the moment essentially. Or play the game... (Which normally leads to doing both ;))

Community activity is low (see the post rate on the sub for example). Views are likely down across SC content as a rule. Even BoredGamer's viewbots must be twiddling their thumbs right now ;)

So what's the story with this one? Having a good idea of the kinds of views that Elite & SC videos get, I'm looking at the view count with the thought that someone spent a good chunk on buying youtube views earnestly trying to push this narrative... Or are that many Elite players checking out this guy's video who has under 7k subs with the video getting under 8k likes compared to 231k views?

I'm sure he'll get his $$$'s worth out of that Cutty Black (seat kills you), Corsair (flips over and kills you) and Dragonfly (kills you before you even knew you'd looked at it ;))

(Although given he seemed quite angry about ships stuck in docking collars, who knows ¯\(ツ)/¯)

Either the channel owner or someone else viewbotted it, directly or through a third-party service.

I think we talked about this guy 3 months ago, someone who had seemingly never played ED on his channel, got low views on other games, then did that video and got thousands.

BUT ... I could be wrong but my memory is he only had 10 thousand views at that time on that video? He piggybacked on the ED refugee idea, getting thousands of views from SC viewers, and quite a few from us here pointing out it was suspect.

And it looks like it's never stopped since, he's still getting the more ED refugee comments than there are actual ED refugees ...

It's definitely possible. Interesting that only his ED vs SC vid blew up either way. (Standard SC vids just did OK, all coming off a baseline of low/no content prior).

Oh no the comments are great. So many 'SC Refugees' in there. So damn many 😁

Here's a quick sample...

I just did the opposite. It's clear that SC is going to be an amazing game, but right now, it's just a boatful of frustration and bugs. As it exists, it's a masochistic nightmare. Do what you wanna do, but I had to leave. ED at least works, at least makes sense, at least values your time. You can login and do something even if you only have 15 minutes. SC takes 15 minutes to get to your ship. Anyway, good luck commanders. o7

I play both and I'm back to primarily playing Elite, SC is too much of a mess, Elite just works and is incredible in VR and I just don't have much faith that CIG will ever accomplish what they're trying to do, mainly because their game reflects the company, a unorganized mess.

I just started Elite Dangerous to play while SC gets its act together with their 3.18 disaster. I love SC, but if it’s so bugged that the basic functions like missions, elevators, or in some cases even logging in don’t work I need to look somewhere else for my space fix. I’d be happy if I could do everything I did in 3.17, but that’s not the case right now. Hopefully it will be soon.
