I dunno how anyone who is a dev fell for this crap. Initial (fake) pitch maybe but anyone with any project experience had to see he was talking out of his rear end.
There are def some experienced game-dev fans there who seem very enamoured with the 'dev with no beancounters' side of it. (And others who just like seeing an absurdly sized sausage making a mess
I agree it's mystifying that they don't see the scope bloat curse nestling in every drop of gristle. Or the more novel 'live alpha as dev hell' lessons.
But at least in fairness to those two, they have now
(And we all know there are tons that've have traced that path before them. Lotta veteran game devs over at refunds who aren't just there to oggle the mess, but paid concierge cash for the privilege first...)
