Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Oooh, and remember the kerfuffle when CIG suggested they would release with 5-10 systems but after the outrage they walked back on it saying what they meant to say was they would have 5-10 systems done by the time all major features were ready and of course they were still aiming for 100+ systems at launch.

Also its funny in that thread how many backers don't seem to know they actually backed for more than 100 systems.

LOL and Synthwave has already stepped in and locked the thread.

Can't have speculation about negative things now can we?
Has there been any update from Turbulent (or whoever it was they outsourced System Generation to) regarding Systems ?!?

Also standard practice in the industry is to keep to the initial scope of the project. Here, caves are just out of place in a space game.
SC is not only a space game, you forgot all the FPS part and the planetary parts.
And the next patch will feature caves explorable by ships.
If CIG put a cave exporable by ship in a giant asteroid, it suits your space game scope ?

This is a valid point. We've even seen some faithful backers wax lyrical about perhaps never leaving your home planet because there will be sooooo many things to do on your home planet there will be no need to leave.

ED is primarily a space game where you can go down to planets. A top down approach if you like.

SC seems to be a game that is being designed to be a person simulator first and space is something that is added on top. A bottom up approach if you like. However, that wasn't the game that was sold to backers at the start in my opinion.
