Started playing again. All bindings gone. How do I replace them?

Have not played for over a year.
I had to update the launcher, which only gave me the option to install, even though I never uninstalled Elite.
I have my old bindings, but there is no bindings file that I can see.
I know where it should be, but the file is not there.
any ideas?

Check out the sticky in the PC section of the forum for info on backing up your bindings, the info in there should help you find the custom.binds file assuming you haven't overwritten it. If you have overwritten it and don't have a backup you'll need to rebind everything.

keybindings can reset if you visit the control section without one of your usual devices used to play the game ie hotas , xbox pad etc not plugged in or at that present moment is undetected by windows as it thinks your just using keyboard and mouse it simply rewrites your binds for you...

You might be able to find it as a custom preset in the games drop down menu, if you have all of your usual peripherals plugged in and turned on.
