Starting over

I bought the PS4 version of Elite Dangerous when it came out last summer and I was so blown away by it that by the end of the year I was thinking about buying a PC just to enjoy it at its best! And also because my brother started playing ED on PC because of me, so we would wing up together. I had to wait a few months, but finally I bought a nice MSI gaming rig that arrived last week.

So I had to start over with a new commander, and I must say, it's not as painful as I expected: it is actually refreshing and fun. When I started the game on PS4, adjusting to ED was difficult, even after lots of tutorials and forum posts. That's not a complaint, but on the first few weeks on the Sidewinder I didn't always knew what I was doing, wandering from one system to another looking for data deliveries. Now only after five or six missions I already own a shiny Hauler, a ship that I didn't bought with my first commander and that looks more than decent: 16T of cargo and 23ly of jump range (2B FSD, can't afford more!).

It'll take time to reach the same amount of credits and the same fleet roster that I had on my PS4 account, but that doesn't matter. I'll probably do different things and choose other ships, but these new steps feel so different with the knowledge of the game that I have now.
And it's so fun I wanted to share it!

Fly safe CMDRs!

I've never reset my commander, but twice now I've invested all of my credits into ships and modules leaving me with only a Sidewinder and pennies and then set out to play as a pilot living job to job, flying for fun more than credits while purposefully staying in small ships. It's actually quite fun!

I’d love to start a new CMDR, but I don’t want to lose the 330 hours of progress I have invested in my current CMDR. I am still holding out hope that one day Frontier will sell me a save slot so I can play more than one CMDR for a reasonable fee and in a convenient way.

I am never going to resort to purchasing a 2nd account, it’s too much hassle and also is quite expensive.

Congrats!

Just posted a thread on this today. From absolute start (in second account) to D-Rated T9 (with A-rated FSD) in 28 hrs via Sidey, Hauler, T6, T7 primarily doing cargo hauling missions. 105 Mil in assets = averaging about 4 Mil/hr starting from scratch with absolutely no rep or rank. No exploits. No cargo transfers. Just playing the game with whatever I already know...
