Ships Stellar Couriers Association

I reached Imperial rank 'Master' last night, and will be buying a Courier tonight. Just like the look of them, and sounds as though it will be more flexible for missions than my current Imperial Eagle. I ranked to Rear Admiral in the Federation using DB-X and T-7, and want to run through the Imperial ranks using Imperial ships.

Don't have much more to add than that, but as the Imperial ships seem to be pretty underrepresented in the 'Ships of Elite' section, figured I'd post in here. From what I read, the Courier will be a fun alternative to my (beloved) T-7, and get me on up to Baron pretty quickly. Looking forward to it.

It's 15% off in Baldr. That's where I got mine back in the day after months of grind for the rank and credits to barely afford it.

Now mine is at 39ly with FSD booster, but I also lost speed down to 720m/s because of that and a fast-scan DSS (not worth it). [sad]
... still waiting for lightweight SRV/DSS/ADS, Fdev...

Thank you!!

Fun ship, looks nice and has a great cockpit, makes a great air to ground fighter and has amazing shields, it's fast and can be punchy. I love mine so add me to the list of happy owners, liked it so much I had to work on completing the set and got the I-Eagle and Clipper, may go for that Cutter and complete the set, it has sent me on that Imperial rank "grind" for the full set. Still love it.

It’s those impressive shields and the fact it’s such fun to fly that it’s the ship that first got me into combat and ranked up to Expert before using the Chieftain and more recently the Corvette. Despite the Corvette being able to destroy whole stars I still use my courier for regular combat and big smiles.

Only five!!??
I just find these so much more fun that other ships that I end up building specialists for all of the roles they need to perform. I currently have
- "Didn't see that coming" legacy engineered multi-role (just won't change this ever)
- "Fast freight" 40Ly jump range, 24 tons cargo and still combat capable
- "Off the beaten track" Explorer
- "AX" - Anti Xeno (2x Plasma Charger + 1x Gauss Cannon, lots of Guardian HRPs)
- "Cold Heart"
o Was for Assassination missions with wake scanning, long jump range and twin heat vent beams (that never cut out) to burn out even the toughest shields.
o now used as cold running, shield-less, piracy vessel
- "Warbird" Combat zone specialist

Builds I still need
- "Bucky!" really need to try my hand at least one event some time
- "Big game hunter" Assassination special rebuild - Currently using "Warbird", but it doesn't have the jump range or ADS
- Chapter 4 mega ship and scenario specials
o shielded and cold running?
o Mobile refuel and repair?

And its always the speed that is just so addictive...

Im planning on grabbing a Icourier on my second acc and bring with me for DW2(A little late I know =P )... So here comes the important questions... Whats the best paintjobb? =P

I personally prefer the tactical graphite. Looks sick. Very fun ship if you plan on doing canyon runs lol. 652 cruising speed with 885 boost. Its ridiculous. Fly safe CMDR.

I'm out there now basking with Iridescent Twilight. [cool]
So don't copy me :p
Just use whatever you like best. Some would suggest a paint job that will let you see your ship better in screenshots.

Faster than mine, but I'm still fully combat capable. I would have to sacrifice something I don't want to sacrifice to achieve that. [sour] stupid fat SRV bay...

Just a reminder that the glorious iCourier has one of the fastest SC turn rates. Makes for a great little explorer!

~30k lyrs and counting!

My bask stats have increased.

Also filled those 2 new slots since I've gotten back from DW2, and unlocked the Colonia engineers for that G5 lightweight lifesupport.

Even 41.00ly.

(still waiting for that lightweight SRV bay FDev!!!!)

How exactly did you do that ? I have an iCourier which I'd love to Engineer to 875 boost, 39LY. Please do share what you did to yours, where.
I've give anything to have yet another slot on mine to fit a Guardian FSD Booster.

I did some high speed wake scanning in the beta. I got mine too 875 m/s, but I am sure you can go faster :D
I have 5 iCouriers :D

I have four altogether... :)

The fastest is a pretty stripped down canyon racer that boosts at 885 m/s and jumps 39 Ly. Doesn't do much else mind, has a gun or two and minimal shields, but I wouldn't use it for anything other than racing. (Also have an iEagle that boosts to 905 m/s.)

The other Couriers are actually useful ships, good for all sorts of things, and while nowhere near as fast, they have boosts in the high 500 m/s to the mid 600 m/s and can very much hold their own in combat, and two of them have SRV's.

To get the really high speeds, then you can't really put much except the bare necessities in them, but the others are just a mix of enhanced performance thrusters and lots of lightweight engineering on other components.

For Enhanced Performance thrusters you need Dirty Drive level 5 engineering and experimental effect either :
Drive Distributers, for heavy builds
Drag Drives, for the fastest build.

In each look for the minimum mass on the thrusters, get below that and you get the fastest the engines can do, hence lightweight modding and careful component selection. eg. From BurntJello's build above change to lightweight D rated sensors and life support and half the fuel tank size to 2C, that'll get you 844 boost and more jump range. 2D shields is another option although slower regen.

I'm actually very much enjoying the courier atm. Didn't think I would given that in full heavy combat trim (my usual style) I can get better objective performance from a Cobra III or DBS but for some reason I'm really enjoying it...

It's a finicky ship that really does take some time to tweak just right for whatever you want to do with it etc but hey I can kill thargs solo in one so I'll keep it for a while at least :)

The Imperial Courier is my favorite ship to fly in the game. I have three of them (one engineered racing/blockade running spec, one fighter spec, one unengineered racing spec).

If it had a decent distributor, I might retire my FdL. Sadly, the distributor really holds back its DPS potential, so while it's great fun in light combat, killing the big targets just takes too long to really be profitable.

When I want to have fun, though, out come the Couriers.

Here's my racing/blockade-running Courier, Joyeuse (obviously, the strakes make her go faster!)

Courier is my most flown ship on this save according to ED Discovery.... it's a great ship.... capable of so many different roles.
