"Stranded" Gameplay

It's a bit of a niche area and I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but would be great if you can add the functionality for players to be "stranded" on planets. If a player's ship is destroyed whilst the player is surveying a planet's surface, they should be able to request a "rescue" by sending out a distress beacon[SUB][/SUB]. How quickly, or if at all, they get rescued will depend on factors such as distance from inhabited space and how much their insurance will cover - sort of like a breakdown cover insurance.

There might be a maximum distance beyond which this rescue is not possible, then it will depend on whether another player is willing to make the journey to rescue the stranded Commander.
 
You're on a planet and recall your ship but it has to land 100km away and you have to choose which route to follow in your buggy with all sorts of potential pitfalls etc...
 
- Ship lost
- Player locates outpost / homestead / Signal tower
- Interact with signal tower
- Sends message
- Wait for pickup by rescue ship
- Deposited on nearest station
- Get's ship back (insurance cost or not?)
