Strange EDSM flight log entries (CQC?)

Hi,

I've recently started uploading my journals to EDSM and noticed a few strange entries showing I had made jumps of around 12,000+ Ly's to systems called Bleae Aewsy GA-Y d1-14, Theta Ursae Majoris, Boepp SU-E d12-818, Eta Cephei. When I checked these in game I had not visited any of them so am wondering why they've been logged.

I was playing a bit of CQC at this time and wondered if that may have something to do with it? If so, are there any other systems that CQC uses as locations? I want to delete them from my EDSM flight history.

You could always play CQC some more and see if those systems pop up again.

Actually, I think I remember getting these systems added to my EDSM flight log as well.
There was maintenance before that, I think it could be caused by that.

Good idea, I never thought of doing that.

I only joined EDSM a couple of weeks ago, a few of days after there was some maintenance on the site and it became very slow. I started getting loads of errors so I deleted all my entries and started again once the site was 'fixed', the strange entries date back to November last year, so I'm not sure it has anything to do with the maintenance. I also checked the journal files manually and the systems are there, along with some other different looking logs that I've not seen before (maybe relating to CQC).

I've been getting those since forever, I never do CQC so no it's nothing to do with CQC, I suspect it's a misplaced co-ordinate or faulty ID64 entry in the EDSM database.

That's one of about a dozen10kly+ jumps.

Yep, that worked. Just played a quick game of CQC and one of those systems came up again when I uploaded to EDSM. Another thing I noticed is that on EDSM these strange entries don't have ship names applied to them, probably due to the fact that CQC uses a a pool of stock ships.

As for Varonica's entries, if CQC can't account for those then there must be something else creating them.

Those four are the CQC systems, yes (respectively Asteria, Elevate, Ice Field, Cluster). If you're the exploring sort, the Ice Field one is quite nice to visit in the main game too.

Normally they get filtered out either by EDSM or the software doing the uploading, though - what are you using to upload to it?

Oooh, that's what those are! That makes so much more sense now.

Today was the first time I'd ever checked my own logs on there and I noticed the same from back in november. I wondered what the hell I was doing jumping 11kLYs around the galaxy in the middle of my last exploration journey.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I manually upload my journals to EDSM.

All my data is uploaded using EDDiscovery, the 3d map is drawn from the player journals data, so there must be some sort of bug in the original data, that's drawn from the game of course as it enters data into the journal, something must be happening between the data being generated and being stored in the journal. It would be interesting to see if it's a consistent error, will the same error occur for any player jumping between these two stars? I can and have just deleted the odd dodgy jump in the past.

Are those the system names or are they of the normal galaxy map variety?

Asteria is set in Bleae Aewsy GA-Y d1-14, Elevate in Theta Ursae Majoris, Ice Field in Boepp SU-E d12-818, Cluster in Eta Cephei.
The lighting in the CQC map versions of the systems is a little different, and I'm pretty sure they use a fixed timestamp for generation rather than having bodies orbit normally, but the basic system layout is the same.

There is a way to tell the difference in the journal between a system being used as a CQC match location and a system in the main game, but I can't remember what it is.
