Strong suspicion that this game has a hacker problem

Essentially, it seems to be a mix of issues.
  1. They missed the community goal - possibly because of a bug (maybe not)
  2. They did not like the fact they made a loss on a trade because of the state of the economy at the time due to the ripple effects of the community goal
  3. They also seem to think that hackers are responsible for the above

Thanks mate, so it is just one person who didn't read the CG brief, who probably tried to sell the wrong commodity at the wrong market blame everyone (for hacking) and absolve themselves of any responsibility in the game.

Seems fair …….. :ROFLMAO:

Either way it is a problem and either way there is always a core group of fan boys throwing up pompons on this forum about how its anything but hacks or bad behavior by FD.

If I was trying to mis summarize what I was saying that is how I would do it.

The situation you have described is not unknown, you were operating at the tail end of a CG and may have actually missed the boat.

The imperials were at 4/8 and the federals at 8/8 meaning that it is highly unlikely that any contributions you did would have made much of a difference to the end-result. I see nothing in your post to indicate that hackers were ultimately responsible for your situation and while it is possible that you did encounter a bug it is also possible that the CG actually finished earlier than logged (with-in 24 hrs).

[EDIT]Nothing you have stated in this thread to date even remotely smells of a hack to me.[/EDIT]

What ever you can bad mouth me be snarky what ever you want to do. I would say what I reported is a fairly big problem. An this crowd is just like meh no big deal.

Yay I will no doubt now be accused of being a Fanboi groupie pompom throwing hacker :D
Least I will be in excellent company :giggle:

It was an honour to fight at your side.

Okay I'll bite!

If this was such a big problem, why isn't the forums full of people complaining? From all accounts, this was one of the more popular CG's in recent time, so if there was anything amiss there surely more that ONE person would be upset and complaining on the forum. Yet so far at least, you, Commander Telkon b are the only one who seems to have discovered this conspiracy and hack.

OH wait wait wait now it finished sooner. A minute ago I was just a poor troubled foolish uneducated pleb. Know clearly it was just logged latter. How about we just agree to disagree. I still call Hacks moving on. An even if it was just finished sooner why during its current period is there not more data than .. "no current community goal". Hacks or Hokey game design cant be neither. either one is a problem.

Well your going to go after pilots with cutters that fly for the empire right. I'm a pilot with a cutter that flys for the empire. I just call hacks plain and simple you can have your opinion. I have mine.

Well I refuse to fly a cutter after the 3.3 Beta and have no interest in buying a corvette so that kind of blows your accusation out of existence.

You still haven't explained how you, and you alone, out of the hundreds, if not thousands, of Commanders who participated in the CG, how you are the only one, the sole Commander, who discovered this hack. Truly remarkable if you ask me.

If you encounter a situation that you think is a bug, it is your responsibility to report it through proper channels if you expect FD to address it. Reporting bugs is a bit like voting in a democracy, if you don't vote then you really don't have a good basis to complain about the result.

I am not saying whether the CG finished before you arrived or not (it is a possibility). I am not saying that you may not have encountered a bug. I am not saying that ED does not need improvement in some areas. What I am saying though is nothing you have posted to date even remotely smells of being caused by a hack, persisting with such claims seems unfounded.

If you feel really put out by the situation, then you could always try raising a support ticket - perhaps they will refund you any in-game currency losses from the trade you felt compelled to make.

I don't know every line of code I but I get the big picture.

Evidently not.

It's not the code or the details of the BGS that are particularly relevant here.

An I am still calling Hacks these are very convenient bugs. especially If you were flying for the feds this week.

The Feds had considerably more participants through the entire CG duration. This was entirely foreseeable due to the CG's location, the desirability of the reward (fed rank increase and discount), and CMDR demographics.

The issue Is I flew into the lucent embrace two days ago and the community goal was not present on the mission board. They say bug I think HACKS! That is really the whole conversation.

Could well have been neither. The Feds won well before the CG would have timed out.

I would say what I reported is a fairly big problem. An this crowd is just like meh no big deal.

We're not convinced you even saw anything that wasn't working as intended, let alone evidence of a hack.

Most likely you are misremembering the time you checked the mission board or not accounting for the fact that the game (and generally, forum) time is UTC.

Somewhat less likely, but still rational, was that something went wrong with the mission server.

Well into the insanity level of paranoid improbability was that someone hacked you, or the game's servers, to make sure you could not contribute your CMDR's pittance to an event that already had a foregone conclusion.
