stuck fps

my fps is now stuck at 75 when not using the rift. I have 2 980's sli'd and no matter what I do I can't get it to go higher on the fps. Even disabling sli and lowering settings to lowest, running 1024, windowed and full screen. I've uninstalled the rift completely, wiped and reinstalled all drivers, tried older drivers and newest. Turned vsynch off in nvidia settings and game and still stuck! I've even deleted elite and reinstalled it.

I know 75fps is still good but I used to get 200+ before I started trying to get the rift to run. I've given up as the best I can get even without the rift is 45-50fps in res zones and that aint cutting it with the rift.

Anyone any ideas?

yes only with elite. My monitor is 60hz and I'm getting 77-78fps whilst just floating looking at black space, no matter what graphic settings, low or ultra, sli enabled or disabled. It's as though the rift has locked elite to 75fps even though I have now uninstalled the rift. I used to get 200fps.

ok I take that back it's not just elite! Nothing will render faster than 75fps no matter what graphic settings I set

ok, after days of pulling my hair out....evga precision x was the sod that was holding me back! arrrrrrrrr i hate pc's!
