Horizons Submit then spin.

I was under the impression that when you submit to an interdiction you would not spin.
I was also under the impression that while you do spin (being totally stuck) the NPC's wouldn't attack. Well they do, and when you have 2 Pythons gunning you down while you spin, then goodbye ship, goodbye cargo.

I noticed that you spin about every 3 or 4 submissions, and rather rarely does an NPC blow you away while spinning. But it does happen.

I know many of us complain about interdictions, and get sick of our thoughts on the subject, it does become stressful to go through this situation.

Sometimes the game doesn't recognise you have throttled down to submit which is really annoying.
Having said that the whole inerdiction mini game is absolutely farcical.

One thing is clear this dev team are incapable of getting any sort of consitancy or balance.
Once they implement a new feature the beta process should flush out issues but even this process is completly flawed and frankly pointless, particulary the last beta.

It's annoying for the info screen to say submitting, then you spin. I think it's working as intended, based on your speed when submitting. I also hate it when you spin after successfully interdicting another ship. Is that based on relative speed between ships? Either way, NPCs don't spin after they interdict you. As for NPC spawn points after you submit, just reverse if you want to attack them. They will appear before you, giving you valuable seconds to boil them up. :)

I occasionally have this happen as well. I find that if I boost it shortens the spin time.

I concur with this advice, boost seems to help shorten the spin time. I usually find when this happens the interdiction has failed, even though I've tried to submit to it. The last time could have been because I tried to win the interdiction first and then tried to submit, but I don't recall exactly.

I never try to beat it and I'm super quick to throttle down but I get the washing machine every now and then. I never have been shot at while spinning. But at most it is just inconvenient. It may be because my combat rank is just dangerous.

Agitated over the spin cycle.

This is one of the worst aspects of the game. Prior to the engineers, the whole "move the targeting display" to interdict was quite useless, in seemed to more chance than skill. That part has now been made better, if you center your target over the interdicted ship you do get a response on the blue bar. That being said, they added the sometimes random spin cycle effect when you're either hunter or the prey. I usually avoid it by dropping down into real space as soon as I get any hint of an interdiction (messages). This allows me to stop, set my pips and deploy armament, no spin.

One thing is crystal clear, when I watch the NPC drop into real space, they ARE NOT SPINNING. So the spin effect is not applied equally.

I have tried varying the throttle to see if the spin can be avoided, to the point where I cut my throttle to zero when I tether and points in between. Doesn't seem to help.

On top of it all you suffer damage to your ship from the spin.

In the spin, I have tried boosting but it has minimal, if any, effect.

I think were are stuck with this for now.

I've found that the spin cycle is due to there being some control input, no matter how little, or you've already started charging the FSD.

Zero the throttle, kill FSD if you've started a jump, take your hands and feet off of any controller inputs.

Should greatly reduce the odds of the spin cycle happening.

But - yes, if you do get it, a boost or two with FA off will stop the dizziness pretty quickly.

Wait for 2.2, looks like you'll take heavy shield damage when submitting

Wait, WHAT???

That's. . . ridiculous. I have a difficult time evading in the more nimble ships. . . I can't imagine being in something like a type 9 and having to put up with this on top of the standard interdiction mechanics >.>
