Hey everyone, I've been talking about multi-crew with my friend quite a lot in the past few weeks and I had an idea that could improve exploration for multi-crew explorers!
So what my idea is, is to have a holo-panel for the co-pilot that sits in front of them (like the station holo-panel) and can access the system map/galaxy map. I'm not sure how technically limited the game engine is to support this kind of thing (it seems like being in the map vs. being in your ship are two completely different states and therefore merging them could be challenging to not possible), but it would be more immersive as a co-pilot to still hear the sounds of the engines as your flying around a system and be able to access the side panels if need be. Even a panel that somewhat sits in your lap, so you can still see out the cockpit, would make me feel more inside of a ship than inside of a game. This would only be available for co-pilots as they are typically navigators/science specialists who are the ones scanning and analysing data in science fiction (at least the ones I've read).
Thanks for reading!
