Modes [Suggestion] How to incentivise open play and make it relevant

It's not about silencing anyone - it's about how you speak to others and showing a bit of common decency and respect.

The fact more murderhobos get the boot than any other player demographic should speak volumes about the mentality and attitude they have shown.
I've had the boot from here a few times - and for the most part I deserved it every time.

Guess thats why they edited your comment huh. Because you lacked decency and respect. Nice job.

Like I said, mods personal opinions get in the way. Then people get frustrated with them because they cant speak their mind. And ask for changes. While you drop your wall of text on them.

They are perfectly aware of how the game is and why there needs to be changes.

And which is why this thread exists in the first place.

And why a Dump thread was created for hotel california. Becuase PEOPLE WANT CHANGES, but the people running this joint aka (some mods) dont. While the Devs will take the feed back and listen if you talk to them directly. But its hid behind crap tons of bickering by the same 6-7 people.

So people get frustrated and go to reddit instead of dealing with it.

Like I said, they cant speak their mind here with out being brigaded by you and others.

This is not my first rodeo, ive been involved with forums as a mod myself. So please. Cut the nonsense.

That's not true at all. I'm a MH in my alt account, still what I see is a huge forum bias against PvP in general. Many Anti-PvP anti-freedom of playstyle advocates here get pretty salty and aggressive with ad hominem attacks, blatant trolling and defending cheating (CLog for example) and absolutely nothing ever happens to them. Even high profile users in the top 20 of the forum rep board get away with segregating adjectives like calling players "little people" and such.

A shame.

Yup, they edited it because I said something I shouldn't have said (about Sandro if memory serves).
I also got into trouble for it.

No it was a personal attack against me. Remember you stood by your words about it.

But hey. You know everything right?

Ive got people to kill in elite dangerous now. Have a good one!

You may want to browse the SOG threads - still plenty of nasty comments not removed by murderhobos sitting there.
Despite my protests at the time and for a short period afterwards.

Gave up asking for them to be removed, but turns out - they serve a purpose now.
Go have a look, anything mean I said was removed, yet quite a few insults from Maj are still sitting there for all to read.

I hope you don't mean you have alt forum accounts - as that will get you banned.

That's utter tripe, I know a few us with some great reading when it comes to forum infraction records.
We learned to tone it down, unlike the murderhobos who cannot post here now

Even high profile users in the top 20 of the forum rep board

The what now?

So, if someone doesn't agree with you, they're "brigading" you?

Like I said previously, look in the mirror and say aloud what you wrote:

Like i said, Ive proven everything ive brought to the table on these forums. Everything from a guy using the BGS in private and solo to attack a player group. Admitting hes afraid to come into open play cause he'll get griefed and ganked. Or DEFENDED AGAINST.

To the mods editing comments while punishing me.

The only people that need to look in the mirror are the people that look for these threads shutting down any talk of this stuff through-out these forums.

And when you go to reddit, its a WHOLE CHANGE in scenery. Massive upvotes and topics about this stuff. People agreeing with each other. You guys created your own private group by banning and running people off from these forums.

Some people bring it upon themselves. Sure but its out of frustration. I see why they would do it.

Again, dont throw stones in glass houses. Or in this case, the mirrors. Because there is a reason this game is balanced around PVP activities, even if it is indirect BGS stuff. And with guilds on the way? You guys better get your big boy britches on. Because you can shut me out. Ban me if you wish. But 100's if not 1000's will be speaking up about the balancing in this subject.

And Fdev knows it.

So have at it.

The what now?

I'm on a mobile so forgive my formatness

1. Please link me a SOG thread since I don't know what's SOG

2. It's impossible to be a MH in these forums since we can't (and don't want to) murderhobo forum users IRL (even though you'll never ever see an in-game Murderhobo make IRL threats here as opposed to the sanctimonious "fair play" "rainbow game" defenders, I've already seen people (even former mods) with very inappropriate comments). Yes I have an Alt in-game account. BTW I didn't know an alt forum account was bannable offense, I don't have one but I believe some mods might have, it's liberating and I'm totally for it. But thanks for the info.

3. Many in-game MHs can and will post here since it's an allowed in-game playstyle (unless the forum rules changed in the last few days?) as long as they follow the forum rules, I agree with you.

4. Yup I've read "these little people" which is clearly a form of degrading comment and prejudice against Murderhobos since who they are in-game has nothing to do with who they are in real life(TM), an idea vastly and painstakingly discussed on these forums already.

To be brutal I'd say the way PVP advocates approach the rest of the playerbase is the single most damaging thing there is going on for open in the forum. They've taken "please play with me" and turned it into constant unending complaining about absolutely everything with a lot of name calling for anyone who ever disagrees. It definitely goes both ways, but in general PVP'ers have a habit of being worse about it.

It's counterproductive.

Actually its please balance this game so we can play together.

At this point, friend, we're just arguing about who's more nasty on the forums. What I see is, lots of PvPers give plenty advice and go to considerable lengths to provide help in many many many threads here. And most PvPers on the forums keep cool and know how to discuss. I might be wrong

Except me for today. Because im fed up with the constant talking in circles.

Proof is, 5 years hotel california. Reddit being more prominent. Mods editing posts because of Bias.

I do my best to help the community. But I also do my best to show the imbalances within this game. And back it all up with evidence for them to see.

So yes I am frustrated because I love this game. And I hate seeing it being held back by this petty carebear nonsense.

You can't incentivise something that can be spoofed as easily as 'modes'.

Since modes are nothing more than matchmaking flags, someone setting their router to refuse Peer to Peer connections can set the flag to Open and still be unavailable to play with others....

And these people deserve everyone's respect, just as much as all who keep their cool and don't resort to ad hominems or name calling etc. as their first discussion tactic.

As usual, it's the vocal minority who create bad blood. Some of them probably on purpose.

Its a loophole that needs to be closed. Because if they do bring meaningful PVP to the table. This is going to cause major issues. Thanks for bringing it up. As well as blocking. Communications should be blocked. Not the people. If they dont want to deal with someone shooting at them. They already have other options for that.

Ban them from the game.

You're right. The PvP community struggle is an uphill battle in this game. P2P architecture is a considerable problem, what with wing instancing problems and such.
