Summary of the Q&A with David Braben

Power Assisted Steering should be free, I'm sure MB said they were just going to magically add it to ships with 2.0.

oh, so the PAS will not be an extra internal module i'd conclude? at least that will make things better for ships with restricted internal space like the DBE.

OP - Its highly unlikely anyone in the know will give more answers than were already given at this time. They did answer most of the popular questions, the rest will have to wait for further reveals and the beta releases.

However, if you post the questions you feel were not answered, perhaps we can help you answer them based on what FD have said already.

Great post OP! +1 for you commander.

I thought the sharks teeth skin mentioned was for the Python and not the Anaconda???

Michael originally wrote that, but in the previous stream clarified that it would not magically added to our ships, and we would have to fly to a station to outfit ourself with it. Probably all ships get a special slot for that, but you can only actually buy the module when you have bought the expansion pack. I sincerely hope this will be just a token module for the purpose of technically distinguishing horizons and non-horizons players within the same universe without invoking magic from beyond the 4th wall (i.e. the ship computer can tell you "Can't approach planet without suitable equipment" as opposed to the rather unimmersive "Must buy expansion pack to proceed."), and that the PAS will have 0 mass, consume no power, and cannot be damaged or destroyed.

Pretty sure it will take up a 4 ton cargo slot (class2?). So you have a choice in a sidewinder, eagle, etc. 4 tons of cargo or a buggie.

He he...

It look a bit like Russian Dolls. Anaconda launches the Sidewinder, Sidewinder reaches the surface and deploys the buggy.

SRV takes 4 ton cargo space ( + i think SRV module needs 1 internal slot).

I don't think PAS will take any cargospace.

ah ... that's a third possibility:

a) PAS will not take internal modul space
b) you need 4t cargo space for SRV
c) you need a srv modul ...

that as well would be a problem for those ships with few internal modul slots like DBE/DBS...

It would also wreck my hope to use the class 2 compartment in my FDL for a single SRV. Probably have to rip out the SCB for that then? *shrug*

SRV Module?? Where did you get that from? :) The SRV will use up 4t of cargo space. I took this to mean that you need at least a 4t Cargo Rack, the more cargo space you have the more SRVs you can take.

I don't remember saying I wanted more answers... Maybe you've been reading my mind :D I've given the only other burning question I have to Zac along with the list of questions for the devs I compiled. What I really want to know is if we can land on Asteroids and then deploy the SRV, so that we can go asteroid hopping :D Man that would be awesome!

"The exact figures aren't finalised yet, but we're looking at around 25,000 credits for the basic module. The module can have one of more slots and each slot can hold one vehicle bay, you buy the bay (which includes an SRV) for 5,000 credits (TBD). If the SRV is destroyed then you need to buy a replacement and bigger modules can have more than one slot.

Michael"

The way i read this is "one vehicle bay" = 4 tons + your SRV Module that determines your ability to carry SRVs.

No and it was never said there would be, in fact it has been said for a long time that walking around is a long way off. I'm imagining Season 4, but possibly 3

guess i'll wait till season 3/4 then as i can allways fire up mass effect if i wanna drive a mako around the surface of a planet and even get out for some pew pew
