Supercruise "Throttle up to engage" will only work if I alt-tab out

So just started plaything this game and I've got a really really annoying bug going on. when I try asupercruise, it goes through all the motions, then sits at "throttle up to engage" while I'm at max throttle.
I then noticed when I alt tab to look up the problem it engaged. So for the past couple of days anytime I want to hyperspace, I need to alt tab to engage.
Checked every single keybinding in game. nothing uses alt or tab. throttle is working fine. hyperspace works no problem.

Is this some remnant of back when alt-tab would zero your throttle?

You running the game on borderless or anything running in the background? That sounds like the window is losing focus to something else, Alt-Tab fixes this because it refocuses the window to the game.

I thought you might be on to something, but I am full screen 1920X1080. The weird thing is I can interact with cockpit in controls the entire time. I am using the starter sidewinder.

Huge typo I made. It should have read SUPERCRUISE not hyperspace. Hyperspace works fine. it supercruise that requires full throttle and target point centered. I am using TM warthog with CH pro pedals.

Both Hyperspace & supercruise require full throttle so if one works then so should the other.

Have a look at the "space dust" & make sure it's travelling towards you from the front & not an odd angle, it might be that you are facing the right way but your momentum hasn't changed yet so by the time you Alt-Tab out & in both the nose & momentum of your ship are going in the correct direction.

Another possibility is you are mass locked by another much larger ship this will significantly increase the time it takes to get into supercruise (the sidy will be mass locked by every ship.

Both should produce their own unique warning however.

Sounds like you're not joystick is not centered so there's a slight drift which stops SC engaging, but alt tab will cut off the inputs from the stick and let it engage. As said above, look at the space dust..
